Ned, until your tank is ready, I've had Smithy 1 gut out my old left stock exhaust and make it into a tank. Check it out:

It's only gonna hold about 1.4 gallons, but that will get the range up from 110 miles to about 170.

What will be the capacity of your tank?

The tolerances are close, like all things on the SE, but I think it will work:

Am a little concerned about the chain when I'm in whoops hitting the fuel line. Will have to check that out in the field! Maybe without gas in the line!

This might be a great option for thoes of us with Jasse bags. Could also split the can in half long ways, and add some filler to turn it into a V shape for holding more fuel. Now if I could only weld stainless.

I talked to Black Dog today, he gave me a 50/50 chance of them shipping on Friday, if not then early next week. I believe that they are in and is being run for a few days to make sure no problems come up.

Edit: On further reflection, I am not sure if he meant that they would be arriving from the factory then, or shipping to customers. I will call and clarify later today.

Mutt2Jeff has the story right- I'm getting part of the production run today to test fit, once we've done that they will be sent ASAP. Believe me, we're more frustrated with the delay than anyone!
