The olive paint with black hardware fits it well.

The Star Raider is a much nicer looking machine and is 1900cc, 113cubic inch, with comfort and stability. But it's just my opinion...

Nice bike.
The olive paint reminds me of Mr. Cob's FXWG, just not as cool.

Seriously though, I like the springer front end.

For the the Raider's nice til you get to the seat then the lines are all wrong. Looks like the bike is broken in half.

I thought the same thing when I saw the OD.

Shovels are way cooler IMHO. Note: I didn't say better just a more visceral, gotta have some mechanical aptitude to keep it running motorcycle.

I would argue that... I ride this 76 allot in the summer months and really dont do much to it...of course ya gota "prepare" for it and ditch the stock ignition, carb and a few other bits
Sure that may take some aptitude, but I feel it is less wrenchin than driving a 1976 car as many miles per year.

I'd be the first to say that I don't approve of a lot of the things that HD portrays, or what HD's weekend warriors portray when they slip into their shiny new leathers and ride off to the nearest wine tasting. There's also a lot I don't personally agree with when it comes to what the MOCO has become.

But.. my vote doesn't count when one considers how much money has been hauled out of Milwaukee since the early 90's. They're marketing geniuses, and the others are still playing catch-up. And.. if it hadn't been for the popularity of Harley-Davidson motorcycles, I have little doubt that we'd all still be seen by mom and pop Americaas little more than a bunch of thugs on two wheels - regardless of what brand we ride.

My flame suit is on.. bash away..

Nice looking bike, but those springer front forks are going to handle like a pig! IMHO

I guess that was my point. You have to understand the bike enough to do that and, like the '76 car, be comfortable enough with it to ride anywhere and not fear breakdowns.

Nice Shovel.
If the price of admission wasn't so high and I had a big enough garage I'd love to have one of these:

Or one of these:

I'm disappointed that this is the best they could come up with to replace the Softail Springer Classic. This would have been the perfect seat for the old Springer. Add this seat and a set of fishtails, and they would have really had something.

But between the V-Rod, the Rocker, and now this re-branded "Dark Custom" line, I'm not optimistic about the direction they are going. These are all plays to bring in younger riders, and they are failing miserably.

The V-Rod epitomized this failure. They could not build a competitively priced, competitively performing motorcycle. And so instead of competing, with the Rocker and now with this Cross Bones, they've fallen back on their tired old image.
