I rode up through Idaho in the summer of 2006, on my way to Yellowstone. The high desert scenery was spectacular!
I remember being persuaded to ride my loaded GS on a 120 mile dirt road. Halfway through we stopped at the side of a beautiful lake, taking 5, having a smoke, and just taking it all in. A few moments later a herd (?) of Antilope went charging past us, in the middle of nowhere... I remember saying to my South African riding buddy, 'holy crap, we seem to be in Jurassic Park!' ![]() It was indeed a beautiful, if hot, place!

He's right. I've been outed. They're all within an hour of Hoboken.

I lived in Pocatello for 6 years and loved it. Pocatello is a pit compared to Idaho Falls. The main thing about the winters are you have to get out and enjoy them. If you love off-road, I strongly suggest getting a Snowmobile so you can really enjoy the winters.
