New Style Top Triple for Airhead GS

Just finished making a new top triple for the Airhead GS. It has a provision for rubber mounting the handlebars, which creates many options for using different types/diameters of bars at several heights. On my bike I am running a ProTaper Contour (1 1/8") ATV High bar with a BRP Sub mount. (This will allow for the future installation of a Scotts steering damper.) The triple mounts without any necessary modifications, and clears the fairing, tank etc. Since I took these pictures, I have re-installed all of the controls, and all cables were long enough without re-routing.

Price will be $150 each.

Let me know if you have any questions,

Guy

Carl,

Not at this time, but I would consider making some if I could get my hands on a stock triple to take the dimensions off of.

Thanks,
Guy

The R80G/S top triple clamp is the same as the 81-4 airheads.

Yes, you can order one now. They are currently out being anodized, and will not be ready to ship untill the end of next week. Email sales@hendersenprecision.com if you would like to order.

Thanks,
Guy

GoodTill,

The bar mount I used is a BRP S.U.B. (Scotts Under Bar) P/N: 10614P3, which is for a CRF450X.

The Scotts damper is required to have a reverse arm on it, so if you already have a Scotts, you might just have to purchase a new arm. (The unit is mounted backwards from normal installations.)

I will not be stocking/selling the bar mounts and bars, but I will be happy to tell you what I chose to use. This design allows so many different combinations of bars/mounts, it would be very hard to keep the right combination in stock. ProTapers can be bought quite inexpensively all over the web, and BRP makes very nice products, at reasonable prices.

The position of the bars on my bike was just fine with me, as I have quite long arms, but the sweep of the stock bars was just not comfortable at all for my (damaged) wrist. So I chose the ATV High bar which has very little sweep, and the height of the bar with the SUB mount is just a little taller than the stock setup. I am really happy with how if feels, much more like a dirt bike....which is what I was going for.

This triple can be used to rubber mount the stock bars, while changing their position, to upgrade the bars to a 1 1/8 tapered bar, or to upgrade the bar and add a damper setup.....your choice. There are so many different combinations of bars and mounts out there, everyone should be able to come up with the perfect setup, without having to use any kind of bar backs etc., and it will include a vibration damping rubber mount as a bonus.

Thanks,
Guy
