VIR Trackday

Not sure how many of you are familiar with Virginia's VIR track out in Danville. I had the pleasure of tagging along with my friend to both shoot her, other riders, cars, and get a little sneak peak for whenever I decide to do a track day.

I would have joined her this time, but alas, my bike looks like this...

We got there Saturday, and stayed overnight in South Boston, about 25 miles from the track. We drove in Sunday morning, around 8am, and got everything around. While she was at the safety meeting, I walked over to a section of the North course to watch the Porche's...

Went back and picked out a nice spot to catch the action of our paddock neighbor on his 01 SV race bike.

This was the guy on the other side of us on his R6... he didn't talk much.

One of the red group riders, waiting his turn.

My friend on her '04 SV.

I have LOTS more, but since we didn't get back until around 10 last night, I haven't had a chance to process the other 250+ photos. I'll get to it today hopefully, after puting my own SV back together.

Nice pictures.

VIR's a great track. I've spent quite a bit of time up there. Done a track day in a car, but never on a bike....

Private day? I don't see any NESBA, STT, or Cornerspeed stickers?

Team Pro-Motion was the group that set up the day. From what people told me... not as good as NESBA. My friend on the yellow SV actually did 2 laps without her back protector before she realized it and came back in. They weren't checking helmet straps either. And I counted at least 2 bikes with no tape on their working headlights.

Everyone seems to speak highly of NESBA organized trackdays, but the problem is, they often run during the week at VIR, and not on weekends, when it's easier for me to get there.

Regardless, I still want to get there.
