Well I rode the Capo today. Didn't ask about price but the bike has a full set of luggage and crashbars. What it also has is 3000 miles. Considering I have seen new ones for $8900 on the Aprilia forum and received a pm on a similarly used one at a dealer for $8100 with top case looks like actual value of the bike is now $9500-10000 in my mind.

That being said, the bike felt very similar to a V-strom to me and the seat was a bit soft. It did feel slightly more nimble than a Strom but barely and I was smoother riding it but the Strom I rode was not broken in.

You can see from the Aprilia Mana thread in Road warriors that I rode that one too and was very impressed. Not sure if the capo is my ticket though.

Yeah, it felt similar to the Strom to me also, but the local Jap stealership adds crippling freight and assembly and the the Aprilia dealer marked down the Capo so the prices came out about the same.

To me the stock seat is good for about 500 miles a day. I'm going to get a sheepskin buttpad eventually.

If it's a demo with 3k on it, look real close for damage from customers dropping it. When I did the Aprilia demo ride last summer, the demo Capo was battered pretty well.

if you are tall, you should try the tall seat. It was an improvement over the standard seat, although it took a few trips to get adjusted. I have done 1000 miles with the tall seat followed by a few 400-600 mile days 2up.

A few people have mentioned that the short seat works very well.

No, the stock seat is almost at my limit, and a buttpad will put me right there. I could try the low seat, but I don't want to shell out the money and not like it. If the dealer has one in stock, I'll see if I can trying it on before I buy.

BTW: sorry to hear about your accident Olie, made me cry a little to see the busted Capo being hauled away.

I am ok, although the left leg below knee is still swollen, not as much anymore.
I am on the market for a used Capo, although the owner has someone ahead of me to check it first. I am willing to pay the asking price.
An FJR is/was the competition, meanwhile I keeping riding my Tuono. No 2up ride now!!

Time for Hyperpro, you will find their F-R springs to be a huge improvement to ride the bike closer to the limits. The standard springs are too soft!!!
