Looks like a previous owner lost the stock bolt, then used this self-tapping bolt to re-arrange the threads. The threads in the case look OK to me, so I think I can just shave down the shoulder on this bolt so it fits into recessed area, and hopefully I'll be good to go.
Gawd, that sucks dude. I HATE when people do stuff like that. My old 620 RXC had a wiring harness cut all to shreds because some previous owner was an idiot and had no business owning a bike.

Hope it works out ok. I guess if you find that it seeps more than you like, you can try wrapping the threads with a little white Teflon tape, like what plumbers use.

AmericanBeta is waiting for the Aftermarket Tank Supplier to make the tank that was scheduled back in November. As soon as we get them you'll know.

Like I said,...

A bunch of us went through a similar thing with Power Commanders for the KTM 690 LC4 bikes. After a loooooong wait, Dynojet finally just gave up and will offer no controller for these bikes, ever.

I am hoping that the rising price of gasoline in the U.S. gets more and more potential riders and current riders to consider 4-stroke singles so that the market grows. I dream of a United States where at any given time, there's a supermoto or dual sport sitting at every intersection. You'd get things like oversize tanks and power commanders then for sure.

Good news: My 450 RR is finally ready to ride, and I'll be testing it out this Sunday at Tasker's Gap in the GW National Forest in Virginia. In the meantime, I'm terrorizing my neighborhood on it in the middle of the night. I'll post video.

Love these Beta's

A buddy of mine got 2010 520RR that was made street legal. He has some more street than trail tires and we went for a slow get to know the bike ride for the first time in central Oahu, Hawaii. He is crazy happy and just loves his new bike. He is filming and I am ahead with my Black 09 525 RS up front.

I have a couple pre-purchase questions on the 2010 400RR.

1) I didn't check the bike on the showroom floor for either a coolant recovery bottle or fan. Does it have either/both?

2) In line with question #1, does the 400RR run noticeably hotter than other 4 strokes?

How is the seat height once broken in? I am used to Huskys which are tall. I'd love for the bike to be an honest 1" lower if not 1.5".

Thanks.
