I used this same ratio on my 450 too....Absolutely perfecto...

I love my beta......

If the marketing was better in UK, KTM would have a lot to worry about....so much to say they would stop supplying RFS engines

Dakar 2009 Betas - Our Bikes and Dakar Comps

Few Beta pics from Dakar 2009 - 450RRs. 2000kms+, 700 to nearly 5000m, mostly dunes, rock passes or canyons, crosscountry high desert scrub , disimproved roads and bit of tar. Great bikes - numerous flats, a bit of overheating (the desert was hot - imagine) some sluggishness at altitude -but otherwise they made us appear better riders than we were.

Photoboy: Why are they not more popular - they are more so elsewhere. They have very limited production and distribution. But I've seen many more Betas than I've seen Aprilia or Benellis. About the same as 'Bergs - which makes sense. They are Italian - and that puts many people with mechanical backgrounds off straight away. Not warranted, but I understand.

Good to see this thread still sort of alive

I am parting with my Beta as I am not riding much now, but I will be very so to see it go.

New Beta guy from far away

Hi guys. I am fresh new Beta meat from Mililani, Hawaii. I have been reading what you all have shared here and all I can say is thanks. I have the 1st and only 09' 525 Beta RS in Hawaii. It came in a pack of three with 2 fresh but used 525 08' RR's a couple of months ago. I can honestly say I am loving this bike. I came from a woods modded 01' cr 250 Honda that I will reserve for ugly mud survival races where I don't have to worry about breaking turn signals. Riding here is mostly technical slow stuff . Some outer islands have more wide open stuff. I have been scanning the web to learn what others have dealt with and to do to my bike what will make it move in good order. Aloha. I'll try and add some pictures later and show what mods I've added. Lots have come from the info shared across the web. Thanks again. Hey look at my odometer I'm #1 !!!! not!!

Hey that no bikes marker is downright sad. I think you have to buy another Beta. Enjoyed your posts. Get a new Beta and stay! Thanks.
