Suggestions for DRZ400S extra capacity fuel tank.

I am looking for suggestions for DRZ400S extra capacity fuel tank. I want more range than 80-100 miles!

Try safari fuel tanks, i got the 17lt tank, and have had 230 mile range from it, very sturdy tank, would recommend it to anyone.

They do a 17, 28 & 30 litre tank, they are expensive, but well worth the cost.
I've had the DRZ upside down a few times, on and off road with no damage to the tank apart from a few scratches.

I use the Clarke 3.9, already posted a pic on your luggage question thread.
The 3.9 has clearance for the fan on the S, and clearance for a kickstart kit.
Some like the IMS 3.2 because of better ergos, (doesnt stick up so high) but for dualsport touring the extra fuel capacity of the 3.2 compared to stock is hardly worth it imo.
The Clarke 3.9 will fit with a Corbin seat as well but if I was to buy another expensive aftermarket seat I would probably go for the Renazco.

Aqualine is great, I have the 17L on my 400SM and love it.

Friend of mine installed the IMS 4 gal tank and had a real tough time with fitment issues. My Aqualine just dropped right on.

I liked the Clarke 3.9 on mine, at least 200 mile range.

I'm surprised nobody mentioned the Acerbis 4.2 gallon tank. As a general rule, DRZ-E owners install an Acerbis and DRZ-S owners use a Clark, but I don't know why that is the case. In any event, all DRZ questions are answered on www.thumpertalk.com, the best DRZ forum on the planet.

Clarke 3.9 with Corbin. I also have a one gallon kolpin fuel carrier that bolts to the rack.

As long as you don't ride it too hard. I had everything from a craptastic low 115mi (90+mph MX autopista) to over 200mi (typical dual sporting) with my Clarke 3.9. The actually capacity is 16.4L when dry according to the Pemex pump that I pushed it to.

Lots of great food for thought! Thanks to all of you. Looks like I got more research to do now.
