www.gnarlyparts.com up in Vancouver, CA.... he had 'em in stock. That's were I buy the high fender and brace as well.

He can get anything from the Acerbis cat direct from the factory (including the Acerbis/HPN/Touratech tank

good solution for the crummy G/S front turn signals no?
Its a great solution for my DR650 front end mod. I was, just last night, figuring out how I was going to mount some bar steel from the hardware store. I could probably sell my acerbis handguards and TTech signals to cover the cost of them as well.

they look like a cool idea.. My first thought is: I am gonna destroy the turn signal aspect of these things in about ten minutes in the woods

I thought about that, too. Gonna take the risk, though. My other airhead (XR) is the real beater bike. I'll probably leave this one out of the tight woods rotation...

...maybe .

I talked to the Acerbis distributor in Idaho (can't recall his name) who told me that I could get anything from Acerbis I wanted as long as I went through an Acerbis retailer. The retailer would then call him up, place the order and he would ship it out. I could not order directly from him. I got a locking gas cap for my funduro tank (NLA in NA retailers) and a high fender brace shipped to Apex here locally.

Half the fun of owning a GS is tricking it out.

Has anyone mounted flush-mount signals on a GS? After breaking the stem on one of mine when I dropped it in front of my house (no one saw thank doG) I am thinking of switching them out. Those stalks seem to be a weakness on these bikes.

Front end parts are all here...

small tank arrived (thanks Putts!!)

Threw on some new shoes and handguards...(Yes the stock signals will be ditched when I wire up the others...)

Put on the GPS and hard wired it up!

completed the "dakar" collection... really, it's for my kids!

Did about 30 miles on Sunday... the GPS tells me that my bike is charging at ~13.5 at 3,500rpm... good news! My forearm is sore from squeezing the brake so hard to stop... have to get that addressed!

Forgot the most basic rule of airhead carb adjustment.... turns out the Heinrich squeezes the (old) throtle cables a bit and I forgot to check the freeplay of the cables at the carbs... oh well, all new cables going on tonight!

I installed a single-bulb voltage indicator on my GS. I got it from Ernie in the vendors forum (also got the center stand skid plate from him too). Not quite as high tech as Solo's GPS setup but I like it.

The Garmin 176 I had previously, and the 276c I have now both have voltage. What's funny (or not) is that is how I caught the issue with my R100GS... it showed ~13.5v at 3,500 when cold, and then dropped after getting hot.

I'd love to hear how you like those handguards/turn signals.

Well, they are exactly the same and the Touratech option (which saved my R100GS bars a few times!), with the exception of the handlebar insert and turn signals.... the bulbs are quite small and may not be that bright, if so I will see what kinda mod I can come up with.

Solo-

You may have older electrics on your bike and not have this problem, but now do all the signals blink really fast? Figure out a way to fix it?

I put those handguards on my GS and it hyper flashes now, kinda like the bulb is out.
