Haven't wired 'em up yet.... I'll let you know what happens when I do. I was thinking about boring out the hole the small bulb slots into to take the stock BMW size bulb....

There was a discussion on the airhead email list about that hyper-flashing problem and I seem to recall that you need to install a resistor or something in the line.

I have the same handguards with the spoilers w/o the turn signal option. I like them but they are not as effective at blocking the wind as the stock guards.

That would be because the new signals aren't 21w right? The relay thinks a lamp is out because its not seeing enough wattage. I think...
Just need a different relay-

My G/S hyperflashed when signaling for a left turn, the problem was the left bulb was out (stock system).... must be something about the draw of the bulb. That's why I am thinking stock bulb in the new t/s's

If they are acerbis, you can buy "spoilers" check the first post in this thread, there are the same handguards (less t/s) with spoilers on my old GS

All mine hyper flash and I have 4 non-stock turn signals and LED Dash indicators, none 21w.

I was thinking of using a different flasher that is non-BMW maybe a car flasher or one of those signal minders with all the widgets.

Electronic flasher

Here is an example http://www.superbrightleds.com/flashers.htm.
Compare and you should be able to find them local, autozone, napa etc.
you can use resistors, but then they will still draw the same amperage anyway, and be more complicated etc...............

weekly update:

Replaced the throttle and choke cables... man, with the tight fit of the Heinrich it is a realy fiddly job to get everything in there and keep tention off of the cable.... blew some high comp air through the idle jet passages as one carb's idle mix screw wasn't doing much and I thought the passage could be blocked....

Rode about 10 miles, and re-synched the cables (checking for free play this time! )

Today, wired the new front t/s in the barkbusters and removed the stock t/s, threw in the dynabeads and tossed the wheel weights... and superglued my odo button back together (seems to have worked!)

Latest pix....

Looks terrific, mate.

So, do you feel better now? Is the world all in its place now that you're riding a G/S?

Thought so.

I got the spoilers, they're just like me, they break wind pretty well.

How do flashers work?

The stock BMW indicator relais are most likely depending on a certain resistance from the four bulbs to work. I think they all working mechanically as they all click. If one bulb is out it flashes twice as fast, because of half the resistance in the circuit. If you use LED bulbs it doesn' know what to do as it sees an electronic circuit so it either hyperflashes or does nothing (haven't tried, so don't know). To run either normal bulbs or LED you need an electronic relais that flashes independant of the load (resistance).

I bought this one from a German ebay seller, these guys ship worldwide:

0.2-20A indicates the load range: LED to standard bulbs

Here's the link to the auction: http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...m=140192646433

I think I paid 15 bucks shipped.

Hope that explains it.
