Seems like about 30-40 "Wows!" so far; I predict 100 by the end. Here's one more:

WOW!!!

Great stuff, thanks for taking the time to post it up ... you lucky dog.

We where heading to Senegal....

but we get bored in the tarmac, so we head west..

we started to see some savana type landscapes...

the sand dunes where over

and some different wildlife apeard

finally we realized, we were at the end of Sahara desert.... this is the left (north) side of the track...

and this is the right (south) side...

the river Senegal is the border betwen the Sahara and the black Africa..

in this photos you can look that clear, on the right green buches from the river, on the right desert winds...

At the end of this track we enter Senegal...

And the track in the other side of the river where completly diferent

We had a waypoint of a good campground south of Saint Louis

it is really a secret treasure, look the spot, it's in one peninsula

really near this desert beach

on the way there we meet another ADVrider from Holand

And at night we whent to Saint Louis to drink a cold beer (it's almost impossible to find beer in Mauritania, Western Sahara and Marroco, Maomé law )

Saint Louis is beathifullllllllllllll

a nice place to rest for some days

have a lot of french style buldings

the only problem is that the campground is in one peninsula and you have wait for the low tide to get there... or improvise

in the second day we found this pedestrial passage

after some rest we continue south

we had tarmac again...

... and a lot more traffic...

The restaurantes were good..

all diferent, but all good

some times we had take way meals

some times they where crowded

some times just the lonnely "chef"...

we even participate in one contest in the "Maggi restaurant network" to win this prise

we where heading to Dakar, the mistic city of our dreams rally

Tomorow we will show how the big Gs's arrived to Lac Roze...

Thanks for the replys guys

This should be on the front page if it's not already.

So I'm sitting there with the wife...

...rugrat bouncing on my knee, just chatting over coffee. I look over and say, "Honey, I've got to go on an adventure."

She looks at me in that stereo-typical wife sort of way and says, "While I accept that you are a lot easier to get along with when you've worked that wanderlust off, I still don't get why its so important."

So I reach over, boot the laptop, hit ADV and go straight to the Rides Section.

"See, if you can understand it better with some pictures..." So I flip open this report, cause its near the top...

Thank you.

Besides a kick ass, photog wet dream of a ride report, you got me 2 weeks on the bike burn some gas and find some twisties... as long as I stay in the country.

Hi there!

I've been fortunate enough to be a part of the first leg (Lisboa-Dakar-Bissau) of this "Until the end of the world" project .

Anyway, the gentleman in the picture bellow is guilty of all charges :)

Like most of us, Carlos Azevedo dreamed of roaming round the world for years on. Understanding that to cut with family, SO, employers... it takes a lot more than dreaming, Carlos A decided to cut his project in 4 stages more or less compatible with yearly vacation time. If you can't afford a year lets make it two months. If we don't have two months, join in for a month. And if you don't have a month we'll ride what we can. At the end he'll have riden from one extreme of the globe to the other, while others are still postponing their dreams to when retirement comes, kids grow, employment gets stable...

Carlos A is a dreamer but he's a doer also. He carefully investigates what it takes to ship bikes, cross borders, if roads are passable... then he invites a few friends, and we just go and make up the rest as we go.

Carlos A is also the mentor and founder of Nomad's, a Portuguese community dedicated to trail bikes, off-roading and adventure travelling.

I am very proud to be his friend and a little part of this big adventure

So, does that critter really purr?
