Better front rotors for 950 Adv?

I have two sets of wheels for my 950, and the front rotors have warped somewhat on both front wheels. Have any of you tried aftermarket rotors for these bikes? And if so, how well do they work, compared to the OEM units?

Thanks,
VT

Aparently (as reported somewhere else on this forum) the 990 rotors are floaters and are a direct bolt-up. I could look this up for you but I'm very lazy and my rotors haven't warped yet.

How resistant to warping are those wave rotors?

I won the Rally Tennessee last year (all tarmac) with some very hard braking into the chicanes and I suppose if they were going to warp, they would have then. But I have never tried doing a track day with them.............................................. .......................yet!

Thanks for the tip, and the follow up on their performance. I'll give 'em a call. BTW, the rear rotor to match these fronts is a DF703.

Which pads do you run with these?

VT

Wave or Float??

I'm on fence between getting the Galfer wave rotors or the KTM floating rotors from the 990.

Have any of you guys with the 990 Adventure had any issues with warping your front brake rotors?

I had brembo rotors warp twice on my ducati st4s and now i have warpage on my 950. You can be sure I won't replace them with any kind of brembos. Eric

The wave rotors are supposed to be much better for cooling & ejecting mud/dirt from the braking surface.

Even if they don't work better, they sure look tasty.

OK I'll chime in..........

Stock 950 Rotors (front and rear).........Warped after 10,000miles

Braking Wave Rotors (front)...........Warped after 30,000 miles
Braking Wave Rotor (rear)...........Still good after 30,000 miles

Galfer Wave Rotors (front and rear).......... Feedback to follow as I have not got many miles on them yet. It will be a good comparison.

Replacing your disks before the brake pads wear out gets old after a while
