One More For When There's Nothing Better To Do

Three quarters done with the ride report of the trip Amy and I took to Atigun Pass and Manley Hot Springs over Memorial Day weekend. Still waiting for her to add some of the photos she took, along with a little dialogue. She'll get around to it........ some day.

Well here is my first ride report about my first Dalton ride! I need to put some thought into where next year's trip will be and what other weekend trips I want to make this year. Maybe its time for an Iron Butt...

Here's a link to a ride report from this past weekend. I was VERY excited as I unexpectedly met a female rider from Alabama and we had an enjoyable ride. She is a very experienced off-road rider and could "school me" on dirt, but that's okay as I slowly improve my dirt-riding skills every summer. Even though I totally enjoy riding with men, it's SUPER delightful riding on dirt with women, especially since it's a very rare experience. What a treat! I just wish the sun had been out so we could see Denali.

Let the fun begin

It was a dark and stormy night.....Actually it started a year ago. Buddy Terry was leaving Anchorage with a box van and it wasn't quite full. Just enough room for my 02 1150GS so in it went. The bike rested in Yamhill, Oregon for a year and was replaced by a 2010 1200GS (30 year thing) in Alaska. Well it has taken me a year to get down here and have a chance to ride. Of course after a year of sitting in Terry's shop it needed a new battery, fresh gas and the injectors cleaned. The plan all along has been to get the bike to Tucson where Deb and I plan to start spending more time-Translation-Get away from winter. Anyway.....Tomorrow morining the solo trip to AZ begins. No plans, just point it south and see what happens.

I never do ride reports so don't expect much. I seldom take photos and never post the few I do take. So if you want an exciting well written ride report complete with grand photos, you best be here in the morning to ride along and take care of the scribe duties.

More to come.

Part of an email I got last night from Don.

Met Terry and Dennis at Coyote Joe's in Willamina for lunch a couple of days ago. I was hoping that they would show up on motorcycles so we
could ride over to the coast, but Dennis's BMW didn't want to run so they were in a car.
Oh, the shame!
