Help with PC problems

G/day, I'm currently up in the Bay of Islands, and my PC has developed problems. last week I logged onto a site to get live coverage of the Dakar. Bad move, since then I keep getting pop ups that override the program I wish to view, eg post photos to SmugMug, then on to ADV, bookings for accommodation, etc. ADV thankfully is not affected.

I posed the same question over on Oz forum and got good replies, however I'm a complete Luddite when it comes to PC issues, so I need a contact in Auckland who can fix this problem.

Happy to pay to get it fixed.

I'll back in Auckland in a day or two, I have other business to attend to.

Chris

If no one pops up, try 'Geeks On Wheels, I've had a good run with them down here in Wgtn. I'm sure that's a Nationwide set up.

Hi Chris - what Steve said - also you could try the BMW owners register site - there may be computer savvy members in Auckland - cheers Stephen

Are you inferring Dakar 2015 is porn?

Oh dear

Guess there goes the World Snooker championships starting tonight, although with the World Darts, I managed to get through unscathed.

I thought it counted as bike porn , but each to their own.

Ad blocker helps as well on sites with free links for that sort of thing (they make their money from advertising so have no soul when it comes to the dodgy crap that is on there).
You need a version applicable to you browser so just google ad blocker and the right one usually is top of the heap.

thanks for the help and suggestions. All is well again with my PC, found an excellent guy, Michael at KatiKati Computers, who sorted it all out. I had hundreds of malware nasties, now fixed, he tried to install a Linux system(he writes programs for it as a hobby), but my PC wont allow it.

Glad to hear it man!

If you get Malwarebytes now (there's a free version) you'll save yourself the bill for getting it removed again in the future ;)
