Nice day

Hey Buff, good to here your getting your bike fixed. It just shows you have to keep after it.

It's a nice day so I hope everyone gets a chance to ride. I'm still unable to but my son came out to take a spin on the DR. Here I am waving goodby and hoping he has fun.

This is why tigers eat their young. Guess I ought to be happy someone gets to ride.

Funny pic Don, that's great Glad to see you are up and about.

Took the Strom out for a spin today, mostly stayed on roads that had been swept clear of cinders but played on the backroads a bit too. Was good to get out

I took the XR for a short ride this evening. Today's tip: never gas it on an old wooden bridge when it's wet.

Tiger huh. goin with a 1050 or an old 955 ?
Oh yeah I ripped up some crud. 2 layers of vinyl, 1/2" particle board, patched some rotten 1/2 subfloor..

I put down 3/4" plywood and we installed 3/4" hardwood.

I'll extend the hardwood into the living room and dining room only AFTER I get a another bike!

In keeping with my tradition of buying all things used, I think I would get a Girlie. There was a pristine Steamer that a guy just sold across the river in Ohio about a month ago. Like 6,000 miles on the odo or something crazy like that.

No splinters.
Guess I had brain fade, I should have known it would be slick, when I hit the throttle it was over. The torque of the XR is kind of intoxicating, if you've ever ridden an uncorked one you know what I'm talking about.
I'm pretty sure I won't forget and try that again though.

The floors look nice, good luck on another bike. Are you going to lobby to keep the DR in the deal?

Never rode one, an XR that is...

I don't know about the DR650.. It's a great bike, no doubt, but I'm traveling so much in the Northern and Eastern part of the state that a Tiger may foot the bill for traveling. Since my off-road skills are still rusty, I may look for a DR350 to beat up.

Dunno- still pondering the stuff. But now it's back to the cabinets!

Nice job on the floor. Been down that path a couple times. It always seems more satisfying doin it yourself, but not untill it's done Kay and I did our complete kitchen ourselves with the exception of having the countertop made. The place we bought the cabinets from recommended a fellow to put them in and we had him come out to give an estimate.$3000 just to install Needless to say I'm a cheapskate ( owning a KLR afterall ) So Kay and I installed them on our own. It was satisfying when the countertop came and they didn't have to shim for level anywhere. looks like your darned handy around the house, that and holdin out on the living/dining room should be good for a bike,IMHO
Yup- gotta do the cabinets tonight and tomorrow. Our last house had really cool floors- we installed random width red oak made at a mill north of Hagerstown. Not finished or sanded, but $1.00 a sq. ft.

BTW- I will never, ever, sand and finish a wood floor ever again. What a PITA..

And that is EXACTLY the kind of bike I've been thinking of. Maybe a Tiger and DR350.. What else could a guy want?
