The MX track here isn't too hard, and it's cheap enough. They also have a neat 3 or 4 mile quad-width GP course that's a good workout. If you hit it when it's dry, just run it slow and you'll never have a problem. I'm a big guy on a DRZ with almost zero off-road experience, so I'm not doing crazy jumps or anything. More or less, I use it as a fitness thing and a way to get more comfortable on a dual sport bike as you flow around the track at a consistent pace.

Six hours on that track did more for my confidence than I could have imagined. By the 2nd time I rode there I trusted myself, the tires, and the bike about ten times more than when I started.

The beauty of this place is that no one is there mid-week during the day, so if you do something stupid... well, if a tree falls in the woods and no one is around to hear it...
which MX track Dox?

Great place to ride, he has a decent woods loop too!

Gotta watch out for the locals though, they tend to bleed orange

Do you have any idea if Brimstone is still open on the weekends?

Hey, I resemble that remark.

Don't know about Brimstone. They haven't had an event there for a while

Yeah, the woods loop is fun. It was goopy the first time I was there but much more dry the last time I gave it a try. Not sure about brimstone these days.

Looks like the local Orange fanatic already chimed in. Did get to take Herewego's 530EXC for a spin around his back yard...

come down & we'll ride wherever- the 950 is boomin' all over the place, almost 1200 miles in 2 weeks... and I'm only commuting on it once or twice a week

the ol' 650 is gonna be back on the road when WV DMV figures out to add five zero's to the front of my title number to match the new national 13-digit (used to be 8) title number system. My old (pre-2002) SC title only uses 8, and the folks at the DMV in Kanawha City actually had a s(t)upervisor come out of whatever hole-of-an-office they have to accuse me of getting a duplicate title, stealing another bike and trying to register this one here. Idiot. No, I've only had the bike for 21yrs now, ya piece-o-shite. Lord knows there's a big profit to be made selling old ugly (to most) dual sport bikes, especially over state lines. I could probably get $1,000 if I found a drunk sailor... yeah, you're on to something- we oughta make you a Medicare fraud investigator...

They also questioned the mileage on it "you had 132,000 on it when you registered it in SC in 2001, that's a lot of miles for a motorcycle..." Get me the hell outa here before I blow a gasket...

I had my SC DMV programmer buddy look into it and he discovered the leading zero problem.

Love our state, but I guess all DMV's are the same, everywhere...

riding the mountains behind the shop after work tonight... come on folks!
