Just got back from riding with him and a couple others.

Absolutely awesome ride!

Cass, Bartow, Durbin, Monterey, and a few other places I don't know the name of.

Amazing area out here, wish I lived here!

Might be warmer, but I doubt it.
Next weekend it out. If it is warm enough tomorrow I may venture your way mid day. I will drop you a PM if you like.

Glad ya'll had a good ride, sorry I missed it. I'll be going throw frost today and I'll be stopping by his camp to shoot the breeze for a while.

We plan to ride quite a bit this summer so I'm sure we'll meet up at some point. Delane sure knows this area like the back of his hand.

Anyone running GPS units on their bikes?

I've got a new to me Garmin 60Cx that came with no maps installed. Anyone know what maps I could DL that have detailed coverage of WV, hopefully including forest roads?

Hit the Layin tracks forum there are plenty of links to free topo maps of wv. If you can't find them, I will post links tomorrow. Lots of free maps on the web and the 60 you picked up is a great unit.

I have several saved on my work pc I can email you as well. Download basecamp from Garmin. Pick up a couple of micro sd cards as well.

Get a good mount and put a lanyard on the GPS, you don't want to lose it on the trail. I found that out the hard way.

Garmin wants you to pay for the maps. Who am I to deny them their capitalist glory? Oddly enough that model of garmin happens to be the same model that my coon hunting GPS tracking device is based on... which oddly enough I use on my GS as well....which oddly enough I have maps for that include forest road maps.... If I weren't so dern lazy I'd try to put them up on a link for you but I'm sure that would violate some copy write law or forum rules... and I'm lazy. Give me a few hours and send me a PM

Rider: do you know how to overlay maps? I really would like to put the maps I have over a topo on my Garmin, but I think I would have to actually extract the files, combine them and make a new map file. It's not above my head with the help of google but the learning curve is def above my free-time alotment for the month LOL. Anyhow, thought you might know of some easier method.

Garmin's own Citynav is pretty good and includes forest service roads. Downside, it's like $100; upside, theres a ton of bootlegs out there for only the cost of a micro SD card. I'm not promoting that, just saying....

Bike problems.

Stranded in Elkins.

Friend coming to pick me up.

Two questions.

Where can I store bike for a day or two till I can return for it?

Where can I get beer while awaiting rescue

Thank you for any feedback!

Is that a euphemism or a restaurant?
