I don't mind having the signals on my bike

I use trailer marker lights the are tough and cheap to replace

they make some real tough controls now that are water proof

Who needs turn signals and brake lights?
Cagers don't see them anyway.

My EXC doesn't even have a plate.
I'll tell em it's a quad, those are neck deep on the street where I live.
Vehicle of choice for those with multiple DUIs.

So you have blind police where you live?

No police.
The few that are there let unlicensed quads run all over.
And 12 year old kids on XR80s.

I spend very few miles on the pavement with that bike.

I never intended to make a DS bike out of the WR. I just wanted legal license and insurance so I could connect trails.
I think I will always be with other street legal DS bikes and will try to not be the last bike in a line of bikes. It's not like I'm going to be running thru town with it.

The brake light is a good idea. I have an old brake light switch that could be wired up.

If I'm going to ride much street, I'll use the DR.

It had a VA title which did not state that it was an off road vehicle, so the DMV issued the license without question. I did have a picture of a nice plated 2003 with turn signals ready in case they asked.

I've been thru Anstead on the DR five or six times since spring and haven't seen a cop there yet. I guess I've been lucky.
Of course I haven't seen any in Gauley Bridge either. I take that back, earlier in the year a Gauley Bridge cop had a cager pulled over in the Sunoco lot.

I guess you really need to watch it in all the small towns around here.

Surprisingly I have not been pulled over on a DS or sport bike. Did get pulled over on a cruiser in PA southeast of Pittsburgh. I guess going 80 in a 50 will do that.
