Screw Hurricane Karen!

Planned a weekend excursion on the Road King to do a little leaf peeping with momma. Weather turned to shit when we pulled into Maryland along 50. Spent the night with some friends in NOVA and watched it rain while trying to put a dent in their beer stock (we did ).

Up for Brunch, weather got worse, decided to come home of 81/70/68. Coldest damn rain I have ever been in once at Hancock and then again at Frostburg. Rain suit had epic failure, so I am cold, wet, pissed off and my weekend get away has become a f''n misadventure!

Got to hand it to momma, she never bitched once.

Once we got to Keyser's Ridge, the rain quit, the temperatures warmed with our descent into Morgantown and the sun came out on 79.

Screw Karen!

It looked like rain here, but it never did.
Was a nice day today.

Shoulda just kept rolling west on 50.

The leaf peepers were out around here today, driving 20 mph, pulling off at random spot and not using turn signals.
And don't forget, stopping dead in the middle of the road.

There are roads you can do that on, Rt 72 between Kingwood and Rowlesburg ain't one of them.

Really started showing a lot the last week or so.

Always sucks to put the bikes away. Think I'm going to go out for a bit in the morning then maybe go look at a winter project bike. Found a non running but supposedly complete 72 Honda CB350 locally. Hopefully he will come down on his price.

My front TKC80 knobs do the same. Looks like a saw blade by the time they are done. I'd bet the Big Block will do the same. The trailing part wears faster.

The CB would make a nice little bike.
I think I rode the 400 my wife had more than she did.

When I'm home I can ride damn near all year. just ride off road in the winter.

Don't like to get all the road salt on the bikes, too hard on them.

I feel like I'm getting the Adv R pretty well squared away so I better find something to keep me out of my wife's hair this winter. If it's decent and I can get it for $3-400 I'll probably go for it. Maybe make it a little scrambler or something.

not too many red GS's around with a Lazy Boy bolted on it.

I was coming up the hill and was like "is that what I think it is? In a Taco? no F-in way? it is!!" Was literally laughing in my helmet.

At least now I know what my bike will look like in my Nissan

Saw some nice bikes out this weekend. A few GS (sans taco), a few tigers, 955's and 800's, a couple Stroms, lots of FJR's. A sweet speed triple, and a group of probably 15 touring bikes.

Also saw a BADASS group of Dodge power wagons, even a crew cab. Prob 10-12 of them total. I was drooling.

Like these? (You're welcome)

We were over in Marlinton riding this weekend. The wife wanted to drive over so I figured I'd let her have her way since we were gonna ride all weekend. She likes that lazy boy when I do wheelies lol! I bet you were laughing. I have actually had my KTM 300xc AND the beemer in that truck at one time. I saw a fait amount of bikes but we were mostly on FS roads or gravel. Saw a couple DNR officers on Mine road in Slaty Fork. It was strange. Guess its hunting season.

Oh! And FYI my wife and I were officially affected by the shutdown!

Some nice pics you got there Rider. Your unreadably muddy plates told a little of the story to me. The one pic is from the bridge at sittlington isn't it? I think its back mountain road (something like that) over next to EJ stables right?
