The XT225 and/or XT250 are great bikes. Reliable as an anvil, low seat height, plenty of torque awesome MPG. I rode my wife's xt225 all over the place.

I highly recommend them.

Darn right! I got fake bearings once off ebay. Turned out to be just a bushing with a seal around it!! No rollers at all. It was insane..... Yes Ingold, I am poking fun.

Actually looked at some counterfeit SKF bearings. Couldn't tell they were fake visually. This becomes a problem when the size of the balls vary, races aren't sized/toleranced correctly, the materials are not correct, and they are assembled in a dirty environment. One example given was a sport bike crash that was caused by a counterfeit front wheel bearing. Pretty serious stuff especially with the ability to buy stuff on eBay or just searching for the cheapest deal. Buy from reputable distributors only. You poke fun but I know how you ride, you need the real deals.

So what did you ever decide to take? I am kinda surprised you didn't call me for a pint of my patented "Royal Gold" DOT6 brake fluid proper race prep is 95% of winning you know.

Hi SPORTRIDERWV, glad you made it over here from DRRiders.

I'm still looking forward to hooking up if this weather ever breaks.

I was able to get about 50 miles on the DR Sunday a week ago.

Knowing him it's been properly thrashed, but I also know he'll tell me everything I need to know in terms of what's broken/about to break.
having owned a couple klr 250's and ridden the xt 225's. i would choose an xt.

Worked with a guy that would ride an XT to work. He was not a little guy. I concluded if the bike was enough to haul him around, then it was probably a pretty good little bike.

Today's Ride

I can't believe nobody is posting pics of their rides in this great weather.

Here are some from a solo ride today on the WR in Fayette County.
