Looks like a beautiful place.
It does have A/C and ceiling fans in each room. I't doesn't get rally hot until July. Mid September the temperatures start to decrease.

I know Northern Arkansas is cooler than Central Arkansas, but I can start to get purdy warm in June around here.

We have stayed in some of the cabins up on the bluffs in Calico Rock, know the set of three that (I believe) now have all different owners? How far from there are you? Just down the hill?

Don Quiote's restaurant isn't cheap, but their food is pretty good. It is odd to find a small town like that with a bit more upscale restaurant.

Push Mountain Road (Hwy 341) is wunnerful riding. There is also a guy who goes up there on the weekends to take pictures. He goes by the name Snuffy...he is worth stopping and talking to, he is very, very good peeeples. He'd never heard of killboy before. We're working with him on where to be, putting down signs and such so you know when you are being photographed.

You may also PM me and I'll let you know how the locals run that road and don't scare up the local Po-Po, since it is 11 miles of Arkansas orgasm. Good road, see through the corners. Just plain fun.

Depending on how long you plan to stay, or how far from there you want to go, we can get you a map of other roads to ride as well. That is a very, very beautiful part of the state.

Hey Tinks...
I'm about 8 miles or so south of Calico Rock..off Boswell Rd on the east side of the river. I rode Push Mtn a couple of times last time I was up...I cut through on some of the National Forest Roads south of Calico Rock...awesome riding! I take 9 from Syllamore toward Melbourne sometimes just to take the twisties until I get to the Mount Olive road..that's the back way into the cabin. I'll be up again for a few days later this month and hope to get some riding in. Could always use some advice on roads to ride.

Somebody stop the rain!

Barely.....Water backed up behind me and was about 1.5 feet under the back of the cabin but luckily didn't get inside. I had about 7 feet of water at my gate and in my yard. Many of my neighbors weren't so fortunate. There have been several riverfront cabins destroyed and many flooded. Lots of debris...you wouldn't believe the stuff you can find floating downriver in these floods. I had up to two feet of mud and sand on many of the steps down to the dock and on the deck and dock also.
Two 100 year floods in the space of 5 weeks!

This is very cool indeed. Mountainview is worth the trip, I play bluegrass mandolin, guitar, and bass, and have had some very fine jams there. I have definitely bookmarked this thread and cabin.

Do you travel on the bike with your instruments?
Let me know when you are in Mountain view as I would enjoy the music.
BTW I'm of webbed-footed Louisiana blood too.

As one of the two guys (my Dad and I) who stayed at the cabin, I can say it is absolutely a great place. I can't wait to get back there. I highly recommend it!
