Agree with the early morning. At least until September. DriverDain and I are talking about an exploratory trip up to Chuchupate (sp?) in August. Mostly dirt fire roads. I haven't been there in years. As we get closer I will post up.

lots of trees up in that area and cooler too. klammer mentioned in the past about a camping trip which is also a great idea.

Did someone mention Chuchapate? Purelick and I were there yesterday! Beautiful camp in the pines, no water, adventure pass needed. I would say there is about 10-15 miles of really nice fire road leading from the camp up on top of Frazier Mountain. These roads are much easier than the fire roads of Rowher. There is also some challenging 4X4 roads and killer single track ! The road to the camp from Lockwood Valley Rd. is paved and nOOb on big bike friendly.
I'll post my ride report soon.

I'm tired of being paranoid about fuel range and gas stops, after I get the 4 gal IMS gas tank, my range will be 160 miles to reserve, it's only 86 miles now.

We are SO lucky to be living in SoCal with all of our terrific local riding areas and great weather! DC was hot and humid, the roads are terrible, and traffic is a mess. And parking is nonexistant!

SoCal is a dirt riders' paradise, and a GREAT (convenient) place to live!

I was thinking of dragging my Trailer up there. If we overnighted I would have enough water for the crew. An out door shower for the more delicate souls. I would probably camp the entire weekend with Momma and the dog, and get some riding in. Momma would be on her quad with the dog.

6:30am Sunday morning Purelick and I were having breakfast at the TA in Frazier Park. Thumbs up for the breakfast buffet at the TA. From there we headed up to camp Chuchupate for a day of 2 smoke madness. Here's a little ride report.

Nice, I'll most likely be riding those same trials this Sat, just need to confirm it. (East Frazier, Tejon, Long Valley Dave, Gold Hill, etc)

That rock cliff with the pools of water looks like the old trail head of where Snowy Trail use to start, I thought that area was blocked off, or is that another similar looking area?

I'm a 2 smoke guy too, my '96 WR250 never ceases to put a smile on my face!
