Ride the High Country

My brother and I headed for Lake Tahoe in late June to launch a mini assault on Tahoe. A quick side trip for refreshments.

There's some Lobotomy Bock in there too...

1st day rest stop in Tahoe

This was the most scenic place I have ever rode.

Three full days in Tahoe, then it was on to Idaho.

But first, a quick side trip back into Oregon.
Owyhee River:

End of the road rest stop at Owyhee Resevoir:

Then it was back into Idaho for a 3 day camp in the Boise National Forest. The FS roads were not marked well, so I rode up ahead to check for a road number. I attempted to turn around on a slight slope, and the SE showed me what happens when you do that with a 450lb bike.

Only my pride was hurt, the worst part is I couldn't lift it by myself. Trying to stay true to my avatar, I tried at least 6 times, but just couldn't do it. If only I had some rope I could have rigged up a come along, but I only had tools. I watched 100 people drive or ride by, but no one would stop. I finally had to stand in the road and flagged down a couple of Harley riders. With their help the SE was righted, and even though it was flooded, I got her started, and the trip continued. (Lesson Learned)

We stayed here for 3 days:

I rode solo for the next couple of days. Here are some shots:

The population looks just about right to me here:

Pretty fun trip...now back to the regularly scheduled programming...

Laugh changing tires question

Got my new to me 1200 gs and went on a fire road near my house with sand. On Metz tourance's, nice tires for street but not fantastic for sand. Anybody have any recommendation for tires if i want to do a little more trail riding but still want the street part bearable?

I tried on the Asterisks and they didn't fit me well, I went with PODS and they are pretty comfy, although I don't think the kneecap coverage is as good. About the same price I think.

Braces

Also, Chaparral out in San Berdoo stocks both, you can try before you drop $600.

Shipping is free for 2 or more tires from SWMT, and overnight for Cali orders.

And no sales tax!

I buy my Husky street tard Metz M3s from SWMT, dirt bike knobbies from Rocky Mtn, and I want a rear IRC GP-1 for my XRL, so I need to see who carries IRCs.
