Joel, that's the motorcycle shop not far from the Sopasinn. Cathy, from where the smoke is in the picture, it looks awful close to your place. Let us know if you need a hand.

A 4,200-acre wildfire on Sequoia National Forest land in the Kernville area has been moving north from Bull Run Road, destroying homes and prompting evacuations, according to the U.S. Forest Service.
Six homes have been destroyed, Forest Service personnel said.
Residents in Riverkern and Camp Owens are under evacuation orders. An evacuation center has been set up at 6409 Lake Isabella Blvd. in Lake Isabella. The center can accommodate some small pets.
Firefighters with the Kern County Fire Department and Bureau of Land Management have also been battling the blaze. Approximately 500 firefighters are being assisted by seven water-dropping helicopters and seven air tankers.
No injuries have been reported.

hi duy. cool if you could ride with us. others who PM'd me about the riding plans, here's the PLAN....

FRIDAY - still iffy????

SATURDAy is an INTERMEDIATE ride. post it here or pm me if you wants to join us. there's an advanced group heading to bishop and ride to COYOTE flats - contact mike (nowwhat).

the route - explore the mammoth area, ride north to higher elevations including the trails east of june lake, and south of tioga pass. this will be 90% dirt. advanced riders on big bikes and intermediate riders on 650cc or less.

lunch will be at tioga toomey next to the gas station as you enter tioga pass from the 395.

after lunch, we fuel up, turn around and explore the mammoth area east and west of the 395, which will bring us to the town of mammoth for a nice dinner....

if you're camping at browns, there are no showers after 4pm (???). be our guest, bring your trunks and jump in the motel 6 pool. we don't want to see nekkid men....

i have gps tracks only for those riding with us, send me an email at jpaez@bcas.com.

SUNDAY RIDE - Intermediate Riders

stage at bishop. ride up on silver canyon, check out wmrs, ride down to wyman, then back to bishop (reverse the wyman - silver canyon). dinner in bishop or any of the little towns on the way home after bishop.

there's one hill that is a challenge on silver canyon; you have an option to go around and take the highway.....it's a looooong way but scenic! ask an advanced rider to ride your bike on that hill if the condition is beyond your skill level....no reason to be ashamed.

those riding from mammoth to bishop, i have a gps track of a dirt road from browns camp to bishop. again, if you're riding with us, send me an email at jpaez@bcas.com for the track.

If it's heading north this could be a sad day indeed.

Offshore wind will blow it right into KM, Onshore wind will be hotter and burn more. No good news there at all.

On the bright side the airport is close, and it's not yet in too remote of an area.
