From Oceanside, you can ride to Deluz and hook up South Main Divide to North Main Divide to Corona. Jump on the 91 to the 15 for about 15 miles. Then hit the 138 at the 15 for .5 miles. Dirt all the rest of the way to KM, DV, Bishop, Vegas.........Canada
I want that map! Gonna go Google Earth it!

I have a friend with a dual sport down in Lakewood and another with one in Oceanside. It would be fun to cruise down with the Lakewood buddy and do some riding out of an Oceanside base (the friend there has a pool!).

The XT does the freeway ok. I can do 60mph with some throttle left. The bike is hauling about a buck and a quarter in weight so it's not overworking itself. (but yeah...a 6th gear would be nice...like the Jeep...it runs out of gears at 35mph)

Anyway...boot shopping Saturday. I am aiming at a pair of Alpinestars Tech 3s. Not top of the line, but they are Alpinestars and should be quality. Hope they have a pair.

Big question:

If you were between sizes in boots would you go with a tight smaller size or the looser bigger size? Which is better? I am going to be between sizes here.

Leather boot will stretch a little tiny bit.

Do you wear thick motocross style socks with your boots? Maybe try a footped arch support insert like Superfeet to take up some space.

I can wear thick socks. And then there are gell inserts to put in there and ... I'm a girl...I will think of something.

Looks like I'll meet you guys up there because I'm staying on pavement for the time being. Unless there's someone else who wants to do pavement...but I seriously doubt that. Do my shopping after breakfast.

Maybe this time I will get to see some trails. Planning on bringing the bike at this point but have some moving logistics to figure out.
