A while back I saw this ride posted...
http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=606852
sounded interesting, met my criteria; that is, I had a 3 day weekend & it was someplace I hadn't been..... but I didn't know this guy... then Joel & Jim signed on, so I figured I would go, too, & do whatever road rides were planned, or explore on my own. Well, Joel & Jim bailed last week, & I almost did, too.... boy am I glad I didn't.... Jesse/GeoMoto was a great host & ride leader.. I try to limit my time away from work, so I left Friday afternoon about 1:30, it was hot here, & I wasn't looking forward to the ride up the 15 through Las Vegas. I think it was 110 in Baker, & traffic was completely stopped in Vegas. Arrived late in Hurricane & headed to Jesse's house, Everyone had gone to bed already, but he told me there's another girl here, I put you in the room with her... So I rolled out my sleeping bag & went to sleep. Woke up Saturday morning to find myself in a houseful of KLR riders

Do you remember Allison, from the Cleghorn ride in July? She's been on a ride for the last 5 weeks.... Check out her ride report...

She has more of here report on the KLR site, but with a little encouragement, she'll put more of it here, too...

more in a little while

i've done lockwood 3x and i'm not comfortable with that area. it's not as smooth as little t and angeles crest. maybe it's just me and i have to ride it more often to get used to it....

tom, when do you plan on hitting KM. while you pucks do the advanced trails, i can organize an intermediate group to meet up with you guys at the camp. my guess will be the first weekend after a downpour....

there were "flooded" signs on probably 5-6 corners, that thankfully, were false. but yeah, the road's bumpy in some spots, the corners that are marked with signs that suggest lower speeds are riduculously under-marked, and the corners that WILL get you have no warning whatsoever, they just kind of magically appear. but i still had a blast; i only had to pass one vehicle the entire way (harley).

dunno about KM, i'd like to do it before the season's over in mid oct, but don't know if i'll get the chance before then. if it looks at all possible, i'll try to give as much advance warning as possible, but even then only a week or two notice.

way off-topic: joel, when you texted me on monday, i was actually in ventura looking for that damned bbq joint you were asking me the info for. small world, huh? i gave up after a bit and just rode home.
