I may finally get to make one of these rides

I'm hoping to join you guys on one of these rides some time in middle to late September.. I bought a well used DRZ400e (CA plated) with training wheels for just these occasions in March but I blew the motor up before I could run a tank of gas through it.... I finally got it running last week but I'm still in the break-in process.

I plan to ride up the AC/AF slap to Hidden Springs Cafe for a snack tomorrow mid-afternoon if everything goes OK... Wifey and I will be riding the Valk back home from WW in the AM..

Was going to try to get the bike in/out of the suspension shop before the Kennedy Meadows ride... not sure if I can make that happen in time but I'll try. I'm planning to bring that bike to KM regardless... if I can get my Jeep runnng...

Randy from Burbank

Too bad you didn't make it out. Todays n00b run would have been good to break in your rebuilt motor.

Plenty more rides to join...almost one every weekend!

Randy, you or anyone else is welcome to join us for the ride. There are always nOObs but there are also plenty of advanced riders too. Our rides are open to anyone regarless of the skill level and the bike he/she rides. We encourage nOObs to ride along and learn from others. We often break into 2 groups if there's a big disparity in skill levels.

The ride is based on camaraderie nothing more....of course we joke and laugh a lot.

The requirements are bring your own spares, tools, and ride his or her ability...and we prefer not to see anyone getting hurt.

The Full Moon Night Ride is different....

Cheers!

Joel

John, glad we took the short cut, thanks for talking me into taking that trail.......that was a fun ride, just a little too brisk and didn't get the chance to enjoy the view. Funny, we're about an hour behind and still caught up with them...

I stopped at the bike shop on the way home to pick up 2 tubes (1 for me and 1 for sale ). The store owner told me he knows the ranger assigned in the area and she could unlock the 2 gates for us, the only requirement is she will only do it for a big group, not for 2 or 3 riders. We'll get a sign up sheet and I'll contact her or the store owner.

Just checking in. It was a fun ride today.

Why does it seem so much easier in the dark?

Meet Up

Everyone was there on time except those who have to find gas. Not so lucky 13 riders, I wasn't expecting that many will show up.

One 640A is ugly enough but today we had two

Quicksy....first ride out with us FFs and a quick learner...right away she gave me 2 birds.....

Trid finishing up the tire change he did earlier this morning at his house

morning chat....and dr in the absence of bb, javi, and rob, behaved as a perfect gentleman...

john had a premonition...he telling us he's going to have 2 flats today!

my 3 original buddies and captain jack.......hey jamin glad to see you again!

here comes the Israelis.... danny and steve

Good to see Danny joining us today...and Steve too.

From the very beginning, we noticed d-rat wasn't feeling well without his sidekicks rob, javi, and bb.... or was it the beer he's missing?

this one is for my sidekicks!

first time to see a husky in our rides.....

we took little t on the way up to SCD and i was sweeping. john stopped to show me the secret trail and after that passed him. almost at scd, a driver on a pickup truck told me that there was rider who has a flat....oh shit, i turned around and saw this

good that nowwhat turned around too so we were able to pass the word to the rest of the guys go ahead and move on and we'll catch up.

the first spare tube got pinched, and i have to give up mine. after an hour of sweating marbles ....we were back on the road...and this time we took the secret trail.

the trail was in great condition, like a groomed slope in snow skiing. i ate dirt 2x getting in and 2x getting out

we eventually caught the tail end of the group at Mt. Gleason, near the top of 4N24.
