I will have to try the synthetic. Now to learn about jetting. I am sure those dual carbs will give me fits.

I'm just getting into this forum and the whole dual sport aspect of motorcycling. I've been riding a lot on my own and would love to join some like-minded folks for an outing. Are the ride times and locations posted here in the forum?

Thanks!

Welcome to the asylum!

I may go for a ride up Saddleback next Monday after my 10 y/o's award ceremony in San Clemente. Prolly be at Ortega Hwy and N Main Divide Rd around 10 or so. I need to try out and dial in my new rear suspension (new spring and shock rebuild with rebound adjustment). Anyone else off next Monday?

I gotta work Saturday (again), so i 'm assed out on the LA Weekend rides.

Rich,

Let me know how you like the new setup. Cogent rebuild right? Have you done anything to the front yet?

I just got a DR, going with Eibach springs in front and rear and an Intiminator in the front. Was planning on getting the Cogent rebuild done during the winter which is slow riding season in NorCal.

Hi Joe, for the front I've got Eibach straight rate springs and intiminators. The front end is way more planted offroad and increases confindence. The rear was stock and felt very sloppy and loose. I've got an Eibach spring and Cogent rebuild installed and I'm dying to try it out. Now that both f & r are done, the bike should handle great. I'll let you know how it goes when I get back from my shakedown ride.

Rich,
I will like to know the shakedown result also.
MY DR fronts is same as yours without the Intiminators.
Heaviest Eibach spring in the back but very sloppy on and off road.

weekend ride

The weekend is in the corner and unfortunatly i will not be able to make it to KM . I saw the list and it seems that most of FF'S and PP'S are not heading there as well. Joel, now i guess you take it from here and do what you do best (beside riding).

i have older Honda street bikes and it's a no no to put synthetic in them if they've never had it in it.

O rings and gaskets won't be too happy.

    stick with dino oil.

    Rotella works and is cheap.
