stick with dino oil.

Rotella works and is cheap.
I've been using syn oils since 1977 and have not had any issues at all with any of the bikes that I've ever owned, I'm easily over 50+ now.

I always wear in a new engine with dino oil with progressive loading/thermal cycling, then switch to a syn oil.

bob, it will be on nov 13th or 20th. hopefully your mcl will be fixed by then and possibly you will have the xrl by then.

most of my future rides will be geared for adventure riding, need to put a lot of mileage and get in shape for the conti divide in 2011.

xrl parts won't be in hand until after Turkey day. Maybe do the XR will tall gearing or ride more street and do it with the GS. I feel confident that I could do little t through Rowher (the easy way) to Boquet, then street it to the next easy trail. We'll have to see.

Keep me posted as the rides get longer and involve more camping and living off the bike! That's my cup of beer

Forgive my ignorance but is there a ride this weekend? I'm looking to get out Sunday, on the trail bike or the dual sport.

if you bought a used bike with a lot of miles on it or unknown miles, i say stick with dino.
old gasket and O rings might not like the synth stuff.

all my old Honda's (1977 CB550four (two of them) and 1973 CL350) had original gaskets until i rebuilt the top end 35 years after they left Japan.

if you bought your bike new back when i was still in diapers and started the old drum brake motos out with synth, more power to ya.

I need to vent!

How in the fu@k is this possible? I won a RR for my xrl on 10-06-10. The seller sent me a tracking number. The number said that it was picked up on 10-07-10. Well its been 8 days and it just got to Chino Ca yesterday on the 14th. According to the FedEx website it should be getting here around around the 18th. What I want to know how in the hell does it take a 2 lbs package 11 days to get from PA to Cali? I think its a bunch of bull shit! I have not done any dirt riding in almost 3 weeks. .
