Good luck with the stator hope that fixes your problem.

Positive side you now have a spare RR incase this one dies.
seriously now, and i'm not being a smartass (for once) --- someone here will step up and give you a hand with the electrical. not me, though. the electrical system is my achilles heel.

as much as i (and a few others) goof around with earl, i bet he could get it sorted out in no time. i'll be in the market for a new bike sometime soon, and i can only hope that the next bike comes from an owner like him who takes ridiculously good care of his bikes.

so--- anyone near ben in pomona with a voltmeter wanna step up and get this pain in the neck figgered out? come on, it's been raining so much, it would be a nice change of pace to fix another ff's bike than sitting around drinking beer. maybe you could do both.

Been on the road for work... but here are a few from Rincon last weekend.

I think the SE would have been a bit much...

WHYNOWTHEN working his way around the tight hairpin...

Beautiful trail on a perfect day...

Don't worry, plenty of rocks...

Even a waterfall...

I tested the 3 wires that come out of the stator with the motor on. The meter was set to dcv 200. The rpms were at 3 k to 3.5K. I got the reading of 79.2 to 80.6 on all the wires. So that means that the stator is working. So what else should be looking at? I even disconnected the rear break light to make sure that was not drawing any power. HELP MEEEEEE.....

You need to tone out the wires, i.e. make sure they have continuity.
Just because a wire looks intact with no marks or damage doesn't mean current can flow though it. I had a bad wire on my bike and that's what my problem was. Only when I put my meter on Ohms and stuck my sharp probes into the wire did I find the problem.

Is the Rincon trail open now? I've been wanting to hit that every time I get to California as it's quite close to my friend's place, but it's been closed for the last few years.

The KotW guys wre running from Dove Springs Canyon and the 14,through Surpirse Canyon to Mesquite (El Pasos) and blowing by Randsburg in less than one hour. Should leave plenty of drinking time at the Whitehouse, Or better, Renn Olga's joint.

More than one Rincon Trail in California. Northern California near Tahoe, and Central California near Kennedy Meadows / Lake Isabella

May be more ??

There's one in the Angeles NF too. http://www.ohvguide.com/maps/rinconshortcut.htm

It's a 26 mile long fire road that's available by permit only. Go to the ranger station for a free permit and the code to open the gate. I've done it, it's a fun road but there are no off-shoots, by-passes, or single track.

If I wasn't headed out to Colorado tomorrow I would have offered to come down and lend a hand. I work for beer.

Even though I am an SA I have been trying to help via long distance.
