I would not own one. But I think Tim's and Mark's bikes are great for where we ride.

The BMW's do seem to hold up better than some Hondas.

That one stung a little bit. I have all the bugs worked out. I rode down to Santa Barb yesterday. She ran good at 70-75 two up all day. Ben

Definitely not the bike for this kind of ride. I have a 500 mile day and a few 300+ mile days too. I have what I call a touring set up. A shield, highway pegs, gel seat cover, taller gearing, and extra wheels and tires. Today my lower back is a little sore today. But that is pretty much it. Ben

Sounds like fun Ben.

Where did you go for breakfast? What do you think of the food?

I bought 42T and a set of sahara 3 for the 640E, getting ready for future long rides.

I had breakfast in Oxnard. It was place called the best breakfast cafe. I was told about it by a local. He told me that a president had a meal their once. Boy were we disappointed. What about the 640Adv. You seem to never ride it anymore? Wouldn't that be better for long trips than the E? Ben

the 640ADV is now officially a parts bike.... i have more use of it in pieces than when running. it will prolong the life of the E.

Well FF's I just sent in my check, I guess I am officially 'In' on the Catalina Grand Prix.

I was 95% sure I wasn't coming down, I was really dreading putting 2k on the bike on I-5.

The weather has turned up here in Seattle, and it's gray and depressing, so I was whining about my life to my mom, and she volunteered to come get my butt and drive me to L.A. and I'm going to move in with her in Yuma for the winter. SO i quit my shitty job today, and now I am even a "maybe" on the xmas party even!

I'd like to meet up for a ride with some of the old gang but I'm gonna be pretty pressed for time before I gotta drop off the bike. I'm leaving the 27th and I gotta stop in Reno and put my crap into storage at my mom's other place, and then I hope to be in LA early the 29th to change tires @ Joel's and drop the bike off on the 30th at the latest.

Then Catalina

Then I'd love to hook up with you guys for a weekday ride at Rowher or something after I get the bike back on the 7th???

I might be looking to bum some couch space from the 7th to the 10th and I could go to the party and try and go on a proper ride with y'all for I head off to Yuma for the winter.

Anyhow, see you's FF's in a couple weeks!
