I am CAPABLE of driving nicely, I just don't CHOOSE to do so very often. My Mom's got a nice car hauler I could use too, I just didn't wanna drag the heavy assed thing up to Stockton. I'm hoping the van will just start w/ a jump.

Joel et al, it looks like I'm going to have to bail on this ride....

I rode the XRR to the Red Lion to meet the ADV crowd, then jumped ont he 210 to head home. Near home (off the freeway), the front brake lever started to surge and it felt like my rotor was warped... Got home on the rear brake and then gave the bike a quick once-over. I thought I lost some bolts on the rotor carrier (4 of the 6). Turns out it was worse than I thought. I went to check this morning so that I could pull a remaining bolt and stop by the hardware store for a replacement and I had a closer look--the 4 bolts actually SHEARED off... WTF?? So now I have to extract the broken bolts and hopefully not ruin my nice RAD hubs...

Sucks about the rotor. I think Cycle rider in mountclare has the bolts you need. Call them 909 621-5061. Also you want to use heat when you try to extract the bolts. Those bolt should of been installed with blue lock tight. The heat will make the lock tight losen up. If you need a torch or some extractor bits let me know. You can stop by and barrow some stuff. Pm me for my number and address. Thanks, Ben

sorry about the bike. while you're at it, go through the entire bike. it also make you familiar with the tools you'l be needing and other details requiring attention. i for instance constantly find missing screws on my 640. those thumpers vibrate a lot. use a med loctite (blue) whenever you have the chance.

see you on the next ride.

i'll see the rest in the morning.

Your missing bolts may be caused more by the bikes multitude of dirt naps than by vibration....
