You are killing me. For me, I think that is the best bike possible. Great commuter, planning on campoing off it this May. And it does pretty good on the fire roads.

Now, when I follow you holligans I need a smaller, faster, (read cheaper to fix ) Honda. The little xr is great for technical stuff, the L would be a nice tween bike.

My eye is really on a 530 EXC or a Hussy. Note to self keep playing the lotto.

No one bike can do it all, you hit the nail on the head, the XRL is a great between bike!

I'm very happy with mine, it never ceases to put a smile on my face, as my "ride to" dual sport bike!

I've rejetted mine (easy), tossed the snorkel, put in a UNI foam air filter, installed a stronger shifter & IMS pegs, bark busters, skid plate, new grips, and just changed the fork oil & greased the steering head bearings this past Sat.

The forks are sprung on the soft side and it comes with 5 wt fork oil, so I put in my usual 10 wt for dirt duty and retuned the damping. If I need more preload, it's easy as pie to put a few large washers under the fork caps to increase it.

Otherwise, the engine is solid, valves are stupid simple to adjust, and will easily do 80 mph with the stock gearing. If I get a 4 gal tank and a small wind screen, it can easily do longer rides.

Having said all of the above, I do have my eyes on a "truck to" dual sport bike, that's the only acquisition that I have planned going forward.

It's not about what bike you ride, or who rides what. It's about just getting out there and riding.
