On Day 3 we only had the morning to ride since CD's flight back to Canada left in the afternoon, so we decided to hustle off to Rohwer, over to the Rock Inn for Lunch, then back to my place in Pasadena.

After another detour for the damn Adventure Pass, we were finally riding again, up Break trail to the top. It was super windy at staging one but not as bad up top.

From the top we took Rowher 4x4 all the way down, as we have already talked about on this thread. Steepest hill I've ever come down. Loose and difficult to control your speed.

After a cold, windy ride along the shores of Lake Liz the albondigas was so AMAZING that I had to complement the cook. He told me he had just made the soup that morning. Normally you get a ton of broth and a few meatballs. His was full of meatballs hand had a hearty portion of rice in the broth as well. Highly recommended.

After lunch we had to get ourselves back as we were a bit late and there was a flight to catch.

We supermoto'd the twisties, sticking to the pavement for speed, then took Rowher 4x4 back up and over, however we bypassed the very bottom steep section as time was not on our side. It would have been interesting to try though...

Back to the truck and the end of our few days riding. Although this pic is from the day before I feel it adequately captures my feeling of triumph over some of the hills that have previously given me problems.

I'll give some of the credit for the wicked suspension work Javier did on my wr250r and take some for myself in the area of confidence and general improvement.

CountryDoc was a stud, motoring along on a 16-year old bike, albiet a nicely improved one, and I didn't give him too many opportunities to pick up my bike like is usually the case.

And now... I'm looking to buy a truck. I think I'm pretty much done riding my little 250 for 3 hours to get to the dirt, then 3 hours back once I'm exhausted.

See you on the road.

wes

yeah bob, we need to get this one rolling. there is only a small window, maybe a few weeks to see carrizo wearing a fancy and colorful dress.

the month of april, it seems all the weekends have events...penguins, warped, ama ride for kids, tax filing friday deadline. the good part, there are 5 weekends in april and 5 paychecks.....

Great RR Wes! Another awesome week in California.

East Camino Cielo has to be one of my all time favourite rides. A few fun technical sections, as well as lots of space to let 'er rip, all backdropped by some stunning scenery looking way out from high over the ocean to the west, and far into the Santa Ynez valley to the east. Fabulous!

Didn't realize you hadn't ridden a GS. I would have offered to meet at the rock store and we swap and run some canyons.

Do you have a way of getting your case of goodies to DV? If not let me know we can meet somewhere in between and swap. I have room in the trailer to bring stuff up.

PM me if you need to arrange a pick up.
