no riding for me this weekend and if no regular has a riding plan, you're welcome to lead the ride. the conditions should be great and the weather will be nice.

please go ahead and post up the plan and location, as well as the skill level.

I have a Sycl in the KTM and BMW. I left the lights on the KTM on for about 2 hours one day in the garage. When I discovered it the lights were still pretty bright and the bike started right up. I don't think even my gel battery would've done that. I don't recommend doing that though. Jim's putting out a good product. Shameless plug.

He had tossed the stock battery box so I made a bracket to hold the Turn Tech LFP battery (battery only weighs 0.9 lbs).

BTW I used the Turn Tech battery for 4 months and it performed flawlessly.
I'm seeing my doc on Friday and hope he has good news for me. I've done a street ride on my Triumph and an easy fire road ride at Rowher. I can't wait to get out on the DRZ.

nice job there dennis. also good to hear you're making good progress. i bought a brand new drz battery box for the xr which i have no need anymore. it's yours if you want it.

i like the SYCL battery for being compact and strong. it will sit perfect where the old battery is located. i have a utility box that goes on the left side of the subframe similar to where your battery is now.

our own herrhelmet (jim) sells this battery. they come in different sizes and amperages. best of all, tech support and warranty can't be beaten.

like rob said, you don't need to have one on the bike, it is so small that if $ is not an issue, nice to have one in my tail rack.

I carry one of the small ones in my back pack. It is seriously like 6oz and has no issues starting the KTM, and I've heard the BMW as well, but I haven't tried it yet.

Anyone doing a ride this weekend? I haven't been out for over a month and I need to get serious about getting some skills before I get a chance to do the Jimmy Lewis class I won at the DV Noobs rally. I'm thinking of hitting Hungry Valley, Dove Springs, or Jawbone this weekend for some drills. Bike is a KTM 530, I am a noob.
