Vsrtom's 1st Dirt Nap

Seems I need more practice. :-)
This used to be an easy dirt road. But fire, plus much rain, and now on a tall 'n heavy bike has made this a challenge for me.

I got to a landslide, felt it would be too unstable with my bike, my weight, not to mention the street tires and bike being a bit tall for me, so I decided I would turn around in fear of dropping the bike trying to go over the slide... yeah...

Lost traction as I was starting to take off the other direction, bike slide backwards, could not find a foothold with my short stubby legs to save me, and down I went!

No damage at all... aside from maybe a sore ego.

Anyone want to show this big-bike n00b with short legs how to ride his Vstrom on dirt?
hmm... maybe I should wait until I get some half-decent dirt capable tires first.

Jim, Joel and I are camping in the Dixie Forest tonight. Oak Grove campground site 2. Its beautifully wooded and quiet except for the chirping birds, flowing stream, and the sound of the breeze rushing through the trees. Jim and I saw a hawk carry off a snake as we a rode towards the campground. Unfortunately for the snake, the bird was hungry and didn't spook :)

Yup, that too. Been researching for compatible skid plate, but think I'm going to go with a different set of crash bars for better compatibility

Following Spafixr to Bar 10 on the reverse of Crawdaddy's GPS route. Put Jim in front after his near death experience.

Jim was fine. Tired but fine.

The fun story starts with "We all got kicked out of an empty campground and were asked to leave a National Park for being good campers."

I hate it when that happens!
