Joel, the photo feature of the GoPro is my favorite aspect of it. Video can be a pain, because once you get home you gotta cut out all the crap, add music, etc. etc. With the photo option, when you get home all you have to do is flip through the pics with a cold beer in hand. You can set it to take pics every 2, 5, 10, 30, 60 seconds; or something similar to that. I had it set on 5 seconds, so I had almost 4000 pics before the battery cut out. It wasn't fully charged to begin with, and my card was only about 3/4 full. I have a 32g, well worth the money for longer rides.

good stuff bob... yeah, 1 day.

Thanks Clutch! You got it, I was pissed and more worried about the GoPro getting dumped than me falling, lol. Luckily I caught the fall on tape, in beautiful HD 1080p quality...

Thank goodness my sturdy youth helmet sustained the damage, yet again, for me...

hey flying s, that's one funny video.i like the part the camera was still facing up towards you. yeah, good to see you didn't get hurt. that hill is tougher than it looks.

the way your ride, no one will guess you have been riding only for 3 months, watch those elbows though...

here's what's coming.
july 15-16-17: san simeon/nascimiento
july 29-30/aug 1: wmrs (mammoth)
aug 19-20-21: kennedy meadows

this means we have to find a date between or after the above rides.
Hey Joel,

What is the route for the san simeon/nacimiento ride. You're going to do South Coast Ridge/Los Burros, right?

Also, where are the details for the Kennedy Meadows ride in August?

Thanks, and hope you enjoyed the 4th! -R

Here's the details of the July 30 Santa Barbara-Camino Cielo DS ride. It is outstanding.
  1. 7:30 AM coffee at The Daily Grind Coffee & Tea Station, 2001 De La Vina St., Santa Barbara, CA 93105. Exit the Ventura Freeway at Mission St. in Santa Barbara.
  2. 9:00 AM kickstands up at the trail head at the intersection of Gibraltar Road and East Camino Cielo, NF-5N12. There is a small area to park trucks and unload bikes at the trail head. This is what I'm going to do. It is a LONG, SLOW ride off the freeway up Gibraltar Road to the trail head, so give yourself a lot of time.
  3. This is a good ride for large adventure bikes.
  4. Bring a sack lunch, snacks and plenty of cold drinks. We'll eat on the trail.
  5. I'm not going to follow this page closely for the next three weeks, so PM me with questions.
