after west camino, 4 of us (eric, jim, jon, and i ) continued to galavant.

next stop was the painted cave, off the east side of the 154 on a very nice narrow twisty road.

it's ancient, before the west was won. great to see it has been preserved

there are bars to stop the vandals

amazing

Thumb Awesome ride!

Vic,
Looks like a great ride you set up. How are the "hard" parts compared to Rowher? Will I shatter another collar bone or are they pretty tame? I saw one pretty hairy short climb in Joel's pics. Other than that it looks pretty harmless.

on east camino ridge looking at downtown s.b.

the channel islands on the background

after east camino, eric took us through some impressive tree-line back roads. this was his turf back in college.

we made it back to the trucks in summerland before 8 pm.

also, earlier in the morning, we were late and jon was early but he had to leave so he could be at the meeting spot on time. he left us this, meaning...see ya later PPs.

late dinner in summerland for the 3 PPs = jon, eric and i

IT WAS A PERFECT DAY.......

unfortunately not all can make it, i make this rr not just for entertainment but to motivate all those seating on the fence to ride.

see you on the next ride, enjoy the beautiful summer. life is good.

East Camino Cielo Out

Sorry guys but I can't keep up with Joel's posting pace.

When Joel and I showed up yesterday, the boys were working on their album cover poses.

Joel immediately began doing his morning exercises.

Hooligans

Although it was foggy on the ocean side, there was great visibility on the mountain side. Gibralter reservoir in the distance.

This is where the asphalt changes to dirt.

And the fun begins.

Great ride

Thanks to Jim, Joel, Vic,Eric, JonF, Doug and other names I don't remember for a nice ride. Sorry I did not finish with you all but I had enough riding for the day. My KLR worked better than I expected. Thanks again

East Camino Cielo Back

When everyone was done trying to get up the hill at the end of the trail we turned around and headed back toward Gibralter Rd. Things were started to clear up in the city.

Mike X3 racing down to help fix a flat.

Jim X4

Joel and Don 2X2

Saw lots of this.

Vic trying to hide his identity.

That hooligan again.

Jim and Don.

A better view of Gibralter Dam and reservoir.

East Camino Cielo towers.

One of the rundown houses with a crappy view near 154.

A scenic end to the first leg of our journey.
