just around the corner from the supermarket is refugio rd which took us up to west camino

eric slideways and showing off the proper water crossing on a slick slab.....

at this point, we're down to 6 riders

on west camino

here we can see the ocean and s.b.

taking time to enjoy and take pics of the view

having the sun behind our backs makes riding safer and nicer

john is right, the gate is OPEN...

after west camino, 4 of us (eric, jim, jon, and i ) continued to galavant.

next stop was the painted cave, off the east side of the 154 on a very nice narrow twisty road.

it's ancient, before the west was won. great to see it has been preserved

there are bars to stop the vandals

Vic,
Looks like a great ride you set up. How are the "hard" parts compared to Rowher? Will I shatter another collar bone or are they pretty tame? I saw one pretty hairy short climb in Joel's pics. Other than that it looks pretty harmless.

after east camino, eric took us through some impressive tree-line back roads. this was his turf back in college.

we made it back to the trucks in summerland before 8 pm.

also, earlier in the morning, we were late and jon was early but he had to leave so he could be at the meeting spot on time. he left us this, meaning...see ya later PPs.

IT WAS A PERFECT DAY.......

unfortunately not all can make it, i make this rr not just for entertainment but to motivate all those seating on the fence to ride.

Sorry guys but I can't keep up with Joel's posting pace.

When Joel and I showed up yesterday, the boys were working on their album cover poses.

Joel immediately began doing his morning exercises.

Although it was foggy on the ocean side, there was great visibility on the mountain side. Gibralter reservoir in the distance.

This is where the asphalt changes to dirt.

When everyone was done trying to get up the hill at the end of the trail we turned around and headed back toward Gibralter Rd. Things were started to clear up in the city.
