I've been meaning to measure the 950A's rear brake rotor.... Yep, well under spec. A little over 20,000 miles. No complaints.

Anyone recommend where to get a replacement?

KTM Twins $232 for a Galfer wave floater.... Damn.

Its just barely outside of the park
maybe ? 1 or 2 ? miles before the eastern entrance station
not sure about winter I've only been there 5-6 times always in mid July just after the snow melts enough to get up the road to it
road is mostly dirt with patches of pavement on some of the steeper parts
noob on a big bike could do it

just past Lake Ellery look for a large turnout on the rightside of 120

from hwy 395 Turn right onto State Rt. 120 west 10.2 miles to Saddlebag Rd sign. Turn right onto Saddlebag Rd and go 2.5 miles to campground on right. NOTE: Entrance to campground is a hairpin turn just above Saddlebag Lake Resort. Saddlebag Rd is a single-lane road with turnouts and is intermintently paved and gravel.

Both of my youngest kids caught their 1st fish there

i want in on this camping off the bike stuff. would you run stock gears for cruising 80, or leave the 1 tooth smaller countershaft on and cruise 65-70 . if i can get all my gear on the bike i know its going to be heavy. this is the kind of trip i bought the bike for.

Sounds good - as long as there isn't a vehicle limit

on the way down, take wyman canyon (a must see) to hw168 to big pine then ride south on the 395 on the way home.
Sounds like my kind of route if I make it.

I'm sitting in the Taipei airport on my way home

have a safe and pleasant flight duy.

hope once you get home, you have enough time left to fill up the exxon valdez.

we'll try to keep it a doozy weekend ride.

folks, don't worry about the ride up. no need to endure any inconvenience. what's important is where to meet friday afternoon. my intel says there's a group of l.a. riders camping north of mammoth with firewood and beer (or refreshment) waiting for us.....

....well....let me be the first to say, the racing and film school seem to have paid off Jamin.
Good editing, the fact that you managed to stage all the shots while trying to conquer the trail is something in itself.
I want to see what happened next on the Rincon ride...

Great adventure....and yes, you are an idiot.
Rock on!

our objective is to find a camp spot north of mammoth, not to far from riding we want to do on saturday.

didn't mean to skip brown's camp on friday night, but to ride down to browns, and ride back up again north, we will lose a couple of hours, more pavement, and waste gas.

for sure, saturday night, i would like to join the festivity at browns and meet all the good old PPs.

glass creek is one of the better camping areas there in the area. never been there. my only experience was "french camp", lots of trees and walking distance from tom's place. convenient to get supplies and there's a small restaurant.

saturday crew, please check your email, i sent you riding info in the bridgeport area. sorry, i can't post it here...copyrights infringement.

Another good camp in the area is Hartley Springs. OHV friendly with trails leading out of camp.

CAMPGROUND NAME: Hartley Springs

VISIT DATE: 07/06/2003

UPDATE DATE: 5/12/2010

STATE: California

REGION: Pacific Southwest

RANGER DISTRICT: Mono Lake

NEAREST CITY/TOWN: Mammoth Lakes

RESERVATIONS: No

DIRECTIONS:
From Mammoth Lakes, CA, take State Rt. 203 east 1 mile to US Rt.
395. Bear left onto Rt. 395 (north) to Lee Vining and go 11.3
miles to Hartley Springs sign. Turn left onto gravel road and go
0.9 miles to a "Y" intersection. Bear right onto Forest Rt. 2S48
and go 0.7 miles to campground on right.

NOTE: Last 1.6 miles are rough.

GENERAL COMMENTS:
The elevation is 8,400 ft.

The campground has the feel of dispersed camping along an amazingly
organized maze of roadways. Many camp sites have a "circle-your-
wagons" character - great family or group camping. Widely spaced
among Ponderosa and Jeffrey pines and White fir with patches of
grass, privacy is good at most camp sites. Because of the
abundance of OHV trails, this is an excellent base camp for such
enthusiasts; it can also get noisy. The campground is pack it
in, pack it out.

This is bear country; practice safe food storage techniques.
"Possessing/storing food so bears/wild animals have access will
result in a fine of at least $150."
