I'd have to start my own thread. Call it "Fudgypup's Non-ADV Travel Log."

See, I put in "fudgy" and "log" in the same sentence.

Might end up in the Basement though.
"Fudgypup's Non-ADV Travel Log." Hmm its only that because you dont make it a ADV.

I mean the scooters made it on ADV. but to be fair they have more balls then me, traveling around the world at 46KPH deserves a pat on the back.

hi dan, glad you enjoy the RR, cambria is just the next several town over....

next year, i believe will be held again there. the place was so awesome and no reason to go elsewhere. not sure if there's any place out there that is as good as this one.

another successful event and congrats!

mike, you and all the volunteers did one monumental task. wish i was able to help in some way. it seems everyone went home happy and with great memories.

the weather was nice, and you picked the perfect venue for all those weary travellers from different countries and states. if campgrounds are rated, this will be a 5-star.

i was impressed by the quality of the people who showed up; it seems everyone was eager to talk about travels, adventures, something to learn, or just pleasantries.
after everyone left, the place was tidy. now i know what you meant "leave only footprints"; only problem i heard, someone left a door open at night and the racoons got their way......

ride reports are alot work.... and should put in day trip'in.... or if your a real world traveler in ride reports

threads like this are best for ride planning, basic BS'in and adding links to your day trip'in RR

plus this is a good place for break'in........... n00b's

I agree. The above set up also allows for a better flowing conversation of ride announcments, details, and meet ups without having long extended past reports in the middle (not that the last one was but others have been). I also feel that having ride reports in either the Day Tripping or Ride Report section of this site would be a better place to show the greater community of ADV the wonderful land we have local to us. This new thread could even be done with a single thread under Day Trippin' that directly relates back to all the great rides in this planning thread. Readers would then be able to see through photos and storyline how the land we have local to us changes throughout the year and years without all the other dialog that happens within this thread. Just a thought.

And yes, after 7 weeks of travel I'm now back in LA. I have my own photos to go through and write up in the next few weeks.

Hit the nail on the head.

Hate to look back in planing threads to find the RRs.

Love the posts with clickable links.

I am not an expert on Netiquette, but I do respect JOEL's thread and his attempt to keep it formatted the way it is explained on page 1.

Lately it has become a little off topic. I guess links to other ride report pages works but what we have here in LA Weekend Ride (thanks to Joel) is much different than anything else on ADV. I can go at any time and find the Ride Reports that MY friends have done. If I want to see the world's day ride reports I can run over to that page.

Here it is: Page 1

L.A. Weekend Ride

EDITED FOR WEEKLY UPDATE

This thread is about dual sport riding in the Los Angeles area, including distant places where we can ride our bikes. The intention is to provide an opportunity for individuals to meet other riders, plan rides, talk about up coming events, post ride reports, and discuss bikes and related equipment......

It is our living journal....

Please visit the links below from our past rides and enjoy. And if you live elsewhere and planning on joining our rides, send me a pm or simply post your interest.

SO, JUST TO REFRESH YOUR MEMORY, YOU DON'T HAVE TO LOOK THROUGH THE PLANNING CHAT TO FIND THE RIDE REPORTS. THE LINKS ARE ALL ON PAGE ONE

THANKS JOEL

OVER A MILLION AND A HALF VIEWERS CAN'T BE WRONG.
