I read the thread...
Each rider must contact the Ojai Ranger Station to request a gate pass at (805) 646-4348. Call the ranger station now to assure yourself that you'll have a gate pass. Only 20 passes are given out. Don't show-up without having a pass as I won't hold the gate open for anybody without one!
Sounds like I'm SOL then? Not sure why a US Forest service area would require a special pass in addition to the adventure pass, but I guess in this case there is.

If anyone changed their minds and have an extra one they can offer?

Bueler?

Started off at Rowher and ended up in Tehachapi. Going to head back to Castaic and see if there's any action.

Did CNF this morning. At HK now. These new Mitas E09's are good but really hard. I almost prefer the tkc 80 up front.

I did Drinkwater again today. Pretty quiet out there, just a couple of hunters on quads and a couple jeeps. Conquered the big hill on 3415W03 up on my second try, good thing I had already gone down it so I had my line pretty well decided. Other than that, had kind of a rough day. Rear tire is worn out, only got 5 hours of sleep and had a hard time concentrating. Had a couple and now back home thinking about a nap. I'll definitely need to get a good night's sleep before the JL class next week.

finally home... we did several shortcuts
68 miles total no pic's but did save the GPX.. fun loop for 450 or 530 style bike, if anyone want (mainly 2 x BD can be good practice for DV)... all the hard stuff can be bypassed...

Good Day at Nordhoff Ridge

There ended up only being me, Intrepidrunner, and Kevin from Carpenteria, but it was a good time. Nice, easy fire roads with some relatively steep hills for me to practice my downhill braking.

I did about 210 miles total on the 625, about 80 to get there from Saugus, 50 dirt, and another 80 home.

Thanks Vic and Kevin!

Here's the view looking south from the observation tower at Nordhoff peak.
