Alternate Ride

If SCD and any part of the trails we ride be closed for the night ride and this weekend....I agree with you guys that we should have an alternate ride.

Trailtrick has some cool trails that we've never done...somewhere in Castaic!

Do that in the morning...then lunch at Rock Inn, finish the ride via Sawmill and Liebre, and do 1 of the trail I found to get to the FW5.

Let's have refreshement on the way home at Chuys in Santa Clarita.

Pre Baja ride

Anyone up for 2-3 day pre-Baja trip out to DV the weekend of November 7th?

A friend of mine (Herrhelmet, 11 posts), and I are heading to DV/Panamint Valley.

Day 1: 15/138 turnoff-El Mirage-Randsburg-Teagle Wash-Pinnacles-Trona-Ballarat-Goler Wash-Mengels- Stay in one of the cbins in the valley.

Day 2: Explore and ride the valley, back to the cabin for dinner and cocktails.

Day 3: Home via Warm Springs-Westside-Shoshone, Baker, ?????.

We have done this ride quite a few times and it is a serious 800+ mile ride. No less than 600 in the dirt.

Great shakedown for Baja and any new equipment you plan on taking.

Two vids that I shot from our past rides to this area:

Yep, but not where we'll be

We'll be covering more dirt and staying higher up in the valleys in the cabins with firepits and pot bellied stoves.

You'll be sharing Panamint Valley with about 200 Jeeps that weekend. It's their annual Panamint Valley Days. So be careful.

You'll all be up in the areas of the cabins (Geologist's, Mengel's and Russell's) and Mengels' pass? Coyote Canyon Rd/Butte Valley Rd area?

Please, Please, Please, say NO!

I don't think there's enough room

Joel....
This school would be great for you....the progress from day 1 to day 2 is amazing...there is no time for pics....you can only ride their bikes...little 125's....and they are plenty fast for the track...you get your money's worth...

They have sponsors so you use all their gear...brand new jerseys and pants...their boots...blahh blah....We brought our own gear (won't next time)and they washed it for us so it would be fresh for Sunday...Breakfast and Lunch as well...

I am still laughing...
