i tried danny and thanks.

don't really have a lot of time to do big rides, so i will limit it to about 6 a year, however will devote as much time i have and put all the energy i can muster.

that said, i hope many PPs will consider that as a limited opportunity to join me and others.

try to make it to dv noobs. we love to hear stories of people getting lost and missing their dinner.....

Chris' RR - Third Segment

We all finally arrived at High Mountain Campground Saturday afternoon after dinner and beers at the Pozo Saloon.

What ADV riders really need after a day's ride is a fire, a beer, and some story telling. And that's what we had plenty of. Lots of laughs, stories, jokes, and even some good discussion.

The Fudgypup his bad self...deep discussion with Motok.

Bigtodd hauled his uggs all they way out here...

Joel explaining the mud hole depth....at least I think that's what he's doing...

Since there were so many of us and the whole campground to ourselves we actually had two firepits going, two conversation pits, and we would all wander back and forth and laugh and join in on the other party.

That's some funny shit, that right there...

Since we didn't have creme brulee THE RIDER decided to do creme bru-vienna weiners.

Joel says 'I think I'll stick with my jerky'...

One by one these weary bikers holed up in their tents to crash for a night's rest. Some of us partied well into the night. It never really got cold, no bugs, no dew, couldn't have asked for a nicer night.

Sunday morning we packed up and headed out the Arroyo Grande road towards Santa Maria. More fun dirt roads for roadies. Johngil went flying by on his Husky and I thought to myself, no way, not fair, the guy is on a real dirtbike!

Pappys for brunch and then just the few of us left to take on the Cielo grade.

What a fantastic road to ride. I'm still trying to figure out how these guys find these roads. I had no idea there was even a road up there. If I had come to the end of the road with the huge ROAD CLOSED sign I wouldn't have ridden it. Especially not on a streetbike. No problems, what an epic route to cap off the weekend.

Here's Ersin, always a grin on his face.

And that is all I've got. Thanks everyone, and especially Joel for putting it together with an open invitation to any and all that want to come along. Putting groups together by riding speed worked out REALLY well. No one got lost, not one crashed out, no one got left behind, no one had to wait and wait. I don't even think we had a flat or a breakdown all weekend. Just a couple of dump-overs, nothing major. Thank goodness for that!

Ready for next year!!

Least I could do as a new nOOb. Back in my navy days, the NUBs (non-useful bodies) did all the work

GPS Routes

I'll have to pull my unit off the bike. It got parked, still covered in mud.

I've been tired, takes this old man a couple of days to recooperate. I dunno how I'm gonna ride 7-9 days in a row this summer. Hopefully lots of short trips between now and then to build up my stamina.

Thank you Joel, that's very kind of you to say. As I look through all the photos and reports it just sinks in even more what a nice weekend adventure it was.

We should have the black and white moto leading the parade. I thought it was a cop!
