4-day all road ride ideas?

Hey All,
A buddy is flying out from Minnesota to do a 4-day road ride with me. We'd like to the best stuff possible in a 4-day timeframe and get a little ways outside LA, see some cool stuff, ride some twisties, yet cover some ground. We would probably do something like 400-600 mile days, depending on the roads. We're used to long-mile days, but if you get into the twisties much, that can get shortened quick to 200-300 miles.

Anyone have just a killer road route that is a must do for an out of stater?

We'll probaby be renting a couple of sport-tourers like FJRs or something.

Hmmm, couple of MN guys ... for sure should do Hwy 1 thru Big Sur to Carmel, 13 mile road through Monterey Pennisula on to SF over the Golden Gate and into the Marin Headlands. Then turn around and see it going the other way.

if i have 4 days, this is what i'll do. ride on pch like todd mentioned. 1st night, stay in monterrey or carmel. 2nd night around bodega bay. then cut across to napa valley and surrounding and spend the 3rd night there, 4th day.....haul ass on the 101s (maybe longer than the 5, but not as boriing).

Sounds good! Thanks for the input! I'd say we need more like 14 days, not 4 days!

bob, riding big bikes like the FJRs, you can eat miles quickly and comfortably.

hopefully you get to pick the week with great weather.

i'm not the expert on pch but there's always a possibility you'll run into heavy fog. i drove 600 miles and didn't see the ocean north of bodega bay....

Rowher Flats needs your help

Rowher Flats is in need of some trail maintenance and building of new trails.

Terry, the Forest Service guy, mentioned this to schmo last weekend and we have been talking about how to help on the "Rowher Flats Breakfast Klub" thread.

we are going to be gathering more details on what we need to do, how we can help, if we need to be a club to do this, etc etc.

if anyone can help, please keep your eyes peeled on the Rowher Flats Breakfast Klub thread (we might start a thread dedicated for the volunteer trail maintenance krew).

Hey guys

I should be back for some weekend rides soon!

What is the status of Lynx and area? Hope they are open again! My buddy just got a 690 and wants to come out for rides too.

So...how many bikes does Joel have now??? See he at least added a 950A to the stable since I've been gone.
