Nice SXC out there for someone!

I wish I would have bought this one instead of the one I have!

I'd buy this to share parts if I had $4000!

Fire damage and basic erosion over many decades, plus pollution, soil acidification, etc.

I didn't read anything about "no raises" for firemen, it did state that $1.5 million was provided by AQMD via a grant from Chevron for last year's seedling effort.

And a quarter of the million seedlings have survived, mostly above the 4000' elevation point. And there was a good explanation on the "competition" for nutients by chapparal versus the new seedlings.

Better to try and have 25% "take" versus having nothing IMO.

So realistically, while a lot of us were hoping to have the area open this spring, it is likely to be closed for another few years. Right?

This looks like a pretty sweet deal, however, this bike appears to be registered in Arizona. Before I bought my California plated bike, I looked into several bikes and learned that some dual sports would not have been able to be registered in California. I know there are numerous ADV'ers out there with specific knowledge about 49 state models and Cali model bikes. Without having to contact the DMV or call a CHP V.I.N. inspection officer, does anyone have details on plating an out of state bike and what would disqualify it from getting a 'coveted' Cali plate.

Good question, I'll talk to a USFS ranger the next time I'm up at Nukes for breakfast.

Personally, I see no reason why the fire roads couldn't be opened, the "damage" from riding them is nada.

The thinking is that without the surrounding brush & trees, it would be way easier for new trails to be blazed off of the fire roads; which is exactly what they don't want.
