I love my Panasonic TS2 and will most likely replace it with a TS3 or TS4. Superb image quality and a wide angle lens too.

For batteries, a lot of photographers (and myself) have found that Sterlingtek is a good resource for inexpensive and well built batteries. http://sterlingtek.com/

Hi everyone, just a quick check-in and update. I had bone graft surgery on my leg on April 5th, five months after the original accident. The doctor also moved the hardware around a bit, replacing a few screws and removing the ones in my ankle. I am back in the wheelchair/on crutches again for the near future but hoping to be walking around again soon. I had all the staples removed last week and everything is looking good so far. I will have five more manly-looking scars on my leg. The swelling has come down a lot and the pain has as well. I hope to see you guys soon.

Ha ha! I just removed a couple of screws too!
I'm trying to find a good use for the screws.

Why did hey remove the hardware.? I was told by my Dr that removing it can not only allow re-breakage, but the act of removing them can also cause fractures that previously didn't exist. I know I'm leaving mine in for good. I like being a cyborg.

Different doc's different opinions.... Different fracture locations different needs... And d best different insurance plan...

The ankle screws came out at my request. They were causing some additional pain. The ankle fracture wasn't serious so they are supposed to be safe enough to remove. The other two (larger) screws were holding the top of the rod firmly to my tibia. The doctor felt that removing these two screws which fix the rod in place was holding the tibia fracture back from healing properly. There is a slot in the top of the rod as well so the screw now is in the slot instead, which allows for very slight vertical movement which the doctor thinks will help the bone to heal. Removing hardware is not that uncommon but it is intended to be permanent. I still have three screws and a rod in there, so I think that still counts as being a cyborg.

Thanks for the well-wishes, everyone.
