With a smaller group and no flats today...we ran 190+ miles in 5.5 hours including lunch in Baker...

Groups of 5 or so riders is the key to a ride of this length,.....

beautiful trails....the sand is no problemo on the smaller bikes...Sito did great....

is the SE will be good bike for this?
planing to do it on d SE (fall ride)

Yes...SE no problem....not as fun as a small bike and more tiring,...but no real challenges...

You could do it on a GS..but you will run out of daylight....

Danny, keep me posted when you're ready to go. I'll give it a try on my GS.

Fall will be nice...If you roll out of Barstow by 8:00 you will be in good shape...215 miles to Needles with a Gas stop in Baker...There are some "Go arounds" that will make sense for the big bike...ie...15 miles of Whoops....

If you run an all big bike group with GS's...give yourself 12 hours with stops...

this dude is an animal. how he can do this kind of mileage is pretty nuts, but when you consider he does it on almost no rest or sleep is just scary.

also, big thanks to M1Jeep (rich) for being the official catherder! great route,(well, if your bike is under 350 lbs.) great scenery, and great company! this might be the last time this year for this run, as it will be getting into triple digits soon.

You guys must be slowing down in your old age. There's no way I should be that close to or passing you.
