Yeah... it's kinda weird up here.

I'm pretty close to you but haven't ridden much at all this year, bike needs work, broke, working too much yadda yadda yadda. Also I'm kinda scared to go try and go riding with you

ANd Yeah I think you need to go to friggen Bend or Eastern Washington to get into a race. It's kinda weird up here alright! We're like #2 in motorcycle ownership per capita in the nation, but dirt bikes are a rare sight up here. (as are Harleys riding in the rain)

Maybe we'll all ride together again, and (more likely) maybe not. It was a good time for me and I have met quite a few great people here.

Ride on...

A little change is always good...

The attempted gentrification of Advrider just made some lines in the sand too wide and in my opinion that is ok.....

I like the people who I have met here that are confident in who they are and are willing to accept others for the same. At the same time, there are others who I have spent time with and have concluded that I don't need to spend any more time with them....ever....

What I don't understand is when one person or group thinks that their opinion means anything more than someone else's..

My opinion is my own and I have no delusions that it should mean shit all to anyone else....

There is a group here for everyone....you just have to pick and choose...just like anything else in life..

PS..I like to use the word "fuck", I enjoy cold beer, I ride and love big bikes and small bikes, I will help you pick up your bike, I will laugh my ass off when your drop it, If you are someone like Toast or Sito or Dunerat or Jon or Mr Gil etc etc I will drop anything and come help if you call, if you are someone like Fudgy you are on your own....I like long walks on the beach and slow Jazz...I believe in the soul, the cock, the pussy, the small of a woman's back, the hanging curve ball, high fiber, good scotch, that the novels of Susan Sontag are self-indulgent, overrated crap. I believe Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone. I believe there ought to be a constitutional amendment outlawing Astroturf and the designated hitter. I believe in the sweet spot, soft-core pornography, opening your presents Christmas morning rather than Christmas Eve and I believe in long, slow, deep, soft, wet kisses that last three days.

I had to look up 'gentrification'. I don't see how it fits. But then I'm easily confuzzled.

As far as the people, well said Mike. I just mentioned the same thing in a friendly phone call. We do get to choose.

Some folks are ambassadors for the sport, welcoming new and varied people to their group. Some are clicky and exclusive. People are naturally drawn to where they feel comfortable, where they are welcomed.

My in-person experiences have been all good and I hope it continues to be that way. I think what Johngil was saying is that things written or posted on the internet are easily misconstrued. There is a lack of context or emotion compared to interpersonal exchanges.

Actually, one of my joker employees broke into another broker's E-mail and added this pic as his signature one day...

.

Bwahahahaa....I have seen the gentrification of neighborhoods that lead to rules and rules and more rules with a side of rules....

So it just reminded me of the change from "Let's Ride" to " Let's register to ride" that has crept into this forum....

Ah, yes. Some seek to control, to have power. Nanny state comes to mind.

I fucking hate rules. Rules are made to be broken. I think there's a bit of rebel in all of us that choose to ride.
