Don't really understand why anyone would pay to do something that's free

One more question. Was it the "ride guide" that went over the side?

No, Laine rides a BMW 650 Dakar. I know some of the riders from BMW Ventura, but I didn't recognize this fella..

I am impressed so many of them went for the ride on a rainy day. Now that is the spirit of ADVenture... EH!

Hey Joel...you going to start charging? I'm thinking undercut the competition and charge every one 10 bucks. Then get them for 2 bucks a beer and bring in the BIG money!!!!!

I thought we were going to charge Joel for all the entertainment we provide him... oh, and for all the dust he eats on the rides. That's gourmet dust afterall. I kiiid, I kiiid...

By the way, I ran across Trid (pretty sure that's who it was, the other Honda on your ride) on my way over the forest hwy. Had a good chat. I got my own share of rain shortly after. I got seriously dumped on coming down from Mill Creek Summit and pretty solid rain to almost the I15, but luckily things dry out fast in Landers.

Nice report and picts Joel. The "in motion" (over the shoulder) picts came out really cool. Have a great time in DV.

those riders over 12 of them have the ADV spirit yesterday...our best we had 3....almost 4.....

i was there and i was impressed the way they worked together and get the guy and his bike out. i give my thumbs up to layne...

believe me...if we don't have the la weekend community and don't know anyone...i will be willing to pay too so i can find someone to ride in an organized manner and with similar skill level.

having a community like ours is priceless... who else would want to go for a zero rule ride, and meet the likes of dr, nw, rob, razr, tt, bb, rruuger, and many others FFs.....

turin, hmmmm.... let me work on that but i will need help

here's what i propose

dr is the ride leader
rob is the beverage manager
nw is the enforcer
razr is the graveyard manager
cathy is the first aid responder

the guys can split the entrance fee and beer sales ...minimum of 3 beer before the ride....that crew and the beer..i will never ran out of customers and bring repeat orders.......

my only role, i want to limit myself to being the parts manager...before the ride i would like to know the specifics of their bikes...then i will stock up and will be stationed at different spots waiting, of course free trail side delivery. don't forget sito will be my repair manager........

Yeah, because we'd all just take pictures, laugh at each other for a while, drink a few beers and then leave the guy on the side of the road with his thumb out

I'll help RAZR with the graveyard manager stuff.

Don't ask. Black bikes.

Seriously, Joel, your account of the "Earthriders" is disturbing.

I wouldn't expect anyone in our groups to fly a GS off a cliff.

It's kinda weird, in a dangerous way. Hopefully, we won't have to deal with all that too much.

BTW, does anyone else think some of the pics just posted are front-page worthy? Damn good photographin', IMHO.

And...Thanks for the sigline!
